I literally can't get over how good this show is at times. It deserves all the hype, and Ayo definitely deserves her moment right now for bringing so much life and identity to Sydney!
they completely nailed the process of creativity and how Sydney takes inspirations from the city and their foods to create a dish in her mind. feel like anyone who creates something can relate to the whole clip. defiantly a love letter to those who create!
just an absolutely captivating display of editing here. the way a characters thoughts and feelings and actions can be depicted through a disjointed and stylistic series of shots and clips will never fail to inspire me. a masterclass of editing and framing here and i’ll always be appreciative of it
I'm pretty sure I saw a great interview with the editors and they talked about it--I can't remember what it's called but you should try and find it it was great
I was hooked when i watched s1 and now finally s2 is out and they're dropping montages like this with The Durutti Column who i love. Couldn't believe it when i heard it
just when I thought I couldn't appreciate this show anymore, I downright start loving it, when this song comes on. Durutti Column means so incredibly much to me!
This scene is spectacular. The way it visualized syd going through the creative process in her head and absorbing all this information. Editing in her mind in real time. Something about it makes me want to cry lmao
I write music on my own for fun. Sometimes when I get writer's block, I get an urge to explore my surroundings. Places, Persons, Things. I call my friends and ask how they are, I go on dates and ask the other person why they are dating around. I ask my mom about my grandma. I stop at public art to understand where it came from, and whether it has been forgotten in present-day. At the end of the day, to create something, you need to be inspired. And it's important to speak in pictures, visuals, write and paint visions. This scene was a music video to me. A presentation of the anxiety that Sydney feels through the lyrics of the song, and the visuals represent all the imagination being brought to life.
After finishing season 3 this show is a modern work of art. Its hard to explain, it just exists in its own space, which i guess is what works of art are all about.
if people are looking for the pasta restaurant from this montage, it's tortello, on division! their food is incredible and their homemade pasta is perfect
This was so lame. what was the point? what was she writing? {went to an expensive pasta place- food was good. went to another expensive pasta place- food was good. I work so hard :( can't wait to tell my boss who actually works hard}
Have you watched the episode? Sydney was trying to come up with ideas for their new (gourmet) restaurant. This montage shows her sround Chicago trying out different places for inspiration. Other scenes like the ones with her old photos I feel show her experiences as a child and how those ideas emerge as a result of those experiences.
This was a love letter to the food of Chicago and it was beautiful to watch.
I wanna be there once.
@pravitt4852 feel you on that
how?

One of the best scenes in the series. It shows the process of creative inspiration through nothing but editing
This scene be like me romanticizing my life fr
Only way to do it

Amen.
I love how much they incorporated the city of Chicago in this season.
I felt as if I was spending the day with Sydney and I loved it

This is one of my favourite scenes from any show. The music and visuals, it’s just perfect
City beautiful. Artist beautiful. Beautiful Sydney.Haunting, enigmatic, beautiful Sydney.
Can’t wait for someone to do a video essay on how this is one of the TV's best montages for how it shows the process of inspiration and creation
I'm pretty sure I saw a great interview with the editors and they talked about it--I can't remember what it's called but you should try and find it it was great
Don't wait for someone else to make the thing you wanna see.
I was hooked when i watched s1 and now finally s2 is out and they're dropping montages like this with The Durutti Column who i love. Couldn't believe it when i heard it
This scene is perfect in showing how art is everything and everywhere with the buildings and food.
This has to be one of my favorite edits of all time. So unique and powerful!
i got so surprised when this song started playing, i love the durutti column!
just when I thought I couldn't appreciate this show anymore, I downright start loving it, when this song comes on. Durutti Column means so incredibly much to me!
They have quite the song selection in the bear. I was very surprised when they pulled out Sufjan Stevens
This scene is spectacular. The way it visualized syd going through the creative process in her head and absorbing all this information. Editing in her mind in real time. Something about it makes me want to cry lmao
Without a doubt, this could be the official video of the song 🔥

Just NAILED the feeling of riding the El solo in a half second shot
was a pasta prep cook in chicago, pre-pandemic. Felt like a inhaled enough flour that my lungs were wonderbread
Such a good sequence
The power of great editing!
I was like “where’d I hear this song from?” And now I completely remember. Amazing amazing scene 🙌🏼‼️
Life is beautiful, isn’t it?
Think this was my favorite montage of the whole series
The editing in this show is astonishing

Future Perfect by Durutti Column
i didn't really understand the whole thing here. she eats a bunch of diverse foods and then comes up with a basic red sauce menu?
It's just pretentious. This whole show is.

You seem like fun at parties 😒
Most unlikable character on the show… she’s a good actress to be able to portray that
