      That's cause they are. Low-budget films were outselling most Hollywood films at the box office in the early 70s. The big studios figured out how to block low-budget films and control the theaters. Being a monopoly is the only way Hollywood is able to dominate. Once that is fully gone, they will be in deep trouble and we will benefit from a great increase in entertainment.

      @@stickman1742 it's why I always encourage people to seek out indie films. They may not have the production values of a big summer blockbuster, but they're helmed by passionate filmmakers that want to tell a story.

      @@UnchainedEruption Nixon's spying on the democrats didn't affect the average Joe. He was actually a very popular president. Inflation is a part of ANY economic system. The lack of super-duper special effects means the film actually have to have a plot. Not to say there aren't some movies listed here that wouldn't be silly in any decade. Also useful to point out that there were actresses who could act and be beautiful. Now it seems women have to be beautiful first and then maybe some of them can act.

    • @ryanbarker5217
      @ryanbarker5217 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Zimster2000 oh, i think the quality of actors have always been about the same, you get who you can afford and hope they have some chemistry and/or charisma, then you have to give some of them a role in something because they did the casting couch thing.
      if you're familiar with the how-to-write book 'save the cat' you can see how hollywood isn't likely to make better movies any time soon. :)

    He must be completely confused as to why he never found absolute stardom. He surely looked at himself in the mirror and thought, that is fabulous!
