Showing that range for sure! No wonder he and Scott can switch roles here and there for fun! Haha

Their blend is still off. I don't think they've gotten completely use to Matt's voice.
It's different than Avi's and they need to learn to blend together with it.
The way you can hear that it's a problem is...when Matt has his solo, the four singing back-up blend is good (because they've singing with each other for a decade), but when Matt goes into back-up they go flat. Something about his voice throws them off.
IMO, they need to get off the mics and go back to basics.
Rehearse and truly listen to each other. Adjust your voices so no one person stands out unless they're suppose to. Some of that is the fault of whomever is mixing the sound, but a lot of it should be able to be fixed on the spot by the singers themselves as they adjust their own voices for volume. It's just not happening.
Now I'm not picking on Matt. The group with Avi had been together for a long time and had the mix down pat where they didn't have to think all that much about it. It had become second nature to them.
But the sound changed with Matt, that's not a bad thing, it just means they need to readjust themselves to the "new" sound.

nope, its the microphones, plus they tweaked the arrangement a bit.

      @@edwardjayenaval8245 I respectfully disagree.
It's not the mics, and even if it was they should be able to self adjust.
Look I've been a back-up singer, professionally, for 20+ years.
If for some reason the person doing our sound is inexperienced, that's not an excuse for anyone singing back-up (assuming they're professional) to not self adjust their sound.
If an artist I'm backing has mic issues that partially mute their sound, I would pull off my mic. For two reasons. First because I wouldn't want to be louder than the star, second because it allows the tech. to notice the problem. An A Capella group would/should know to do this. It's blending 101.
I did wonder if their ear monitors were a problem though. Considering several of them kept toughing them.
The reason I say they need to go off mic and back to basics and rehearse is...every live show I've heard them sing in, in the last two years, they've lost their blend. Everyone of them. And they used to be very tight. I can hear who's going off key also, but I'm not going to point figures, and it's more than one of them. THAT is because they're not properly listening to each other. If it just happened here I'd say yes it's the monitor, but it's happening too often for it to be that (or the mics).

I agree, the intonation really is off, and it bothers me cuz I play a string instrument.
