- This build started with a 2022 CRF450r dirtbike.. we then fitted this CR500 motor with our BVC OFFROAD cr500 bolt-in-kit... we then added some goodies such as our full trike conversion kit from www.bvctrikes.com

some ppl are asking almost 20k for a brand new, old, trike. if I had the dough I wouldn't even hesitate. what you guys are doing for the off road enthusiast is one of the most epic achievements I've seen on TH-cam. from the engineering to the manufacturing of parts you guys are the Elon's of dirtbikes ATCs and ATVs! simply put y'all the sh**!!!
As a teenager I had a 250R and it was a beast. I had so much fun on it. I can only imagine how amazing that 500 is to ride. Looks fantastic 👍

Although 25k is a lot of money for a trike, after watching the entire video the cost makes a lot more sense. You are starting off with a brand new CRF450R that I am sure costs more than 10K and then stuffing what amounts to a brand new CR500cc 2 stroke motor in it along with a plethora of brand new top quality parts to make it fit and work. No one can argue this is a thing of beauty and I am sure it is a thrill of a lifetime to ride this modern day arm stretcher. I would love to know how many hours of labor are invested in a build like this. Thank you for the awesome builds and videos!!!
Exactly! Bike is norm 11k after dealer fees
Engine on used market 4,500-5. Sometimes we find a whole bike if we have to…
Rebuild parts for it 2,500
New Cdi Electrical from honda , and aftermarket exhaust another1500- 2k
Our complete trike kit around 7k
Any cosmetics / lights/ custom seat cover / powder could be another 1k
My time? Man i can tell u this we almost never can charge exactly what we put into them. Norm we get half of what it takes because honestly the time i invest is because i am trying to make a perfect bike that isnt rushed and looks brand new.
Call that another 2-3k
Now you take all of that its around if not over 30k
We sell the take off parts from the crf. Apply a 5k credit. Which is more energy and time from packaging , ebaying , talking to customers to sell those parts
And now we end up around 25k
I do it because i love what i do.. i love seeing people get a dream bike that they appreciate. Esp something like this build💪🏼
I could not do it without my team as everyone’s time into a project like this really pushes it along and lets us do it over a short amount of time. Being there is no welding requires on the chassis its one of the faster types of builds.. vs something like the banshee project which is a whole other type of engineering / designing to make it happen. Stay tuned for that one!

Nothing about $25k for a toy makes sense. If it were a racer in sanctioned events, had to ability for utility or was even a restoration of an older machine then it would check alot of boxes that make $25k seem almost reasonable.
But, no. Too expensive for what it is. $25k buys alot of other shit.
I did this with a 87 KXT and jammed a KX500 in it. It also had a very highly modified Banshee. They are my fondest memories. I adored them to say it mildly. The most fun you can have with your clothes on.
@@cbdoil4082I also had the 87 kxt 250 b-2 motor . It was light and very fast. I was a tad to big for the bike and always dreamed of a kx 500 motor stuffed in it. Also wanted about 2-4 Inches length in the swingarm and more suspension travel. I would launch that thing off motocross jumps or whatever else I could find to ramp from and it was always dicey wondering if I was gonna endo that thing at launch but it always came off the ramps good. Fortunately lol. Then was the landing , I landed so hard off a big double jump once it felt like a free fall and I broke my fullface helmet smashing down on the handle bars when I landed never let off the throttle and I to the corner I blazed!! I would love a kx or a car 500 version with these attributes built into them and I would definitely be sold. I miss the 75 mph catwalks and all the shit you can do with trikes. I mastered the riding of them. But there's always that line you have to respect if you want to challenge it or not and if you do you better have those brass balls tied up tight. And remember one thing if you land on the side of it it will roll upright more than it will flip upside down. If you can take the landing on it sideways!! It will bring you home!!!

I’m not even upset with the $25 k price tag . This thing is basically bullet proof and will last many many years !!!
The only thing i can see i would require is maybe 2 to 3,inches more length on the rear swingarm for jumping and balance in air. Incredible ride guys! Also how much suspension travel are you getting now with the mod!!!

Sweet, one of your best looking builds. I love the red, blue, and gold theme, it makes me think of Honda from the 1980s. Have you ever consider putting a Pantera 550 engine in a 3 wheeler?
Im going to do my own billet 5 hundo cases and slowly start reproducing every part so that we have our own deal… then we can focus on offering you guys complete bikes and not worry about using a oem chassis / someone elses power plant
back story… I woulda loved to run one but “companies” today that i reach out to about their big bore 500 power plants they seem to always be behind, waiting on castings, waiting on everything… unfortunately in real life i cant be hanging out waiting on them As it makes us look bad when doing a build which is why we decided to move forward with more CNC equipment and do it ourselves in-house.
Owning the tooling and cnc equip is the only way to go which has made our whole product lines possible while keeping lead times down as much as possible. Im too hiper to wait on anyone 🤣🤣🇺🇸🇺🇸 but stay tuned as i will have some crazy stuff coming for the cr500 and atc250r soon.

Who would've thought that those 3 wheelers from the past that nobody wanted them anymore, now people are turning their dirtbikes into 3 wheelers. I love them, they're fun to ride, and very light compared to a quad

You should make billet clutch covers with forward facing kick starts I feel like people might be a lot less hesitant to make trike/quad conversions if they could get a side cover for there motors that would allow for a forward facing or reversed kick start like a 250r would have

Trx is heavy weak steel - We are working on our own frame as we speak. (Complete frame , not hacking up a quad frame). Unless you mean sticking a 500 into a quad??
Have you guys ever thought about doing a late style '80s 250 or CR500 into a trike a new old school build. I think that all red with all red seats CR250 or 500 would look bad ass as a three-wheeler. Of course all the new stuff is awesome but I was just thinking about some of the old stuff thanks guys all your builds are badass

Yz in a tri z sounds sweet! B4 you buy one just remember we tag and engrave most of our parts.. there were some interesting people in upstate ny cobbling some together that we never built or had parts on… asking crazy $$. Be careful 💪🏼

It could def be made more expensive… but they start so easy so we dont typically run them
Love your builds & videos , and not to “ Preach “ to ya here, but please in the name of safety wear a helmet when test riding , as minimum…. Only reason for bringing this up is I was good friends with Bob “ Ace” Williams who was co -founder of 3-B lightning enterprise Way back in the Early 1980’s along with Billy Talley & Broc Glover. ( Some may remember Broc at least , or maybe all 3 ) Anyway Bob was test riding a Converted Yamaha YZ-465 3-wheeler in the neighborhood by their shop ( just like you in this here video ) and the throttle stuck open and he crashed the bike and suffered massive head injuries that put him into a coma at first , then a vegetated state afterwards that left his parents & family & friends all in a sad state of shock & ultimately he passed away a few years afterwards ( if my memory from almost 40 years ago is still correct ). He was a CHAMPION Rider and was one of the first ( Along with Dean Sundahl) to Race the “ New -1981 Honda 250 -R “ 3 wheelers in Baja races , and he was a master fabricator & had built a Jawa-500 powered 3 wheeler that he laid waste to all of us who used to flat-track on our local tracks here in San Diego area back in the hay-days of early 3 -wheeler racing . Sad end to a really Nice guy & friend ☹️. Stay safe & keep ‘em rubber -side -down guys …👍👍. R.I.P. “ ACE” 😢
