- In the Summer of 2010 the Ashland, IL Coop erected a new 1.1 Million Bushel Bin- we captured the action from the top of existing cement storage.

Thanks for the video. For about thirty years I was involved in the business of design and build and renovation of grain facilities. Been away for near fourteen years, but still have it in my blood. Fond, sometimes painful, memories!
this was the biggest grain bin we ever built. thank you for recording and sharing our hard work.
from what I count, you needed about 11-12 days for the roof. Do you remember about how many guys were working?

Huge Build...wow! Thanks for sharing. Years ago I was living in central Illinois and applied for a job at GSI as an engineer, because it looked fun. The offer was to take a 50% pay cut (with 4 children) and O yeah, get a 4 year degree. PASS! I'm happy they are still producing...and so I am too👍
The bin is 135' and height is about 80'. A spec chart can be found on the web site.
Those Jacks are mechanical. 4140 theaded steel shaft,, with a 9 inch brass nut run by 3 phase motor drawing 7amp.

Those are hydraulic bin jacks around the edge of the bin, the crane is mostly for the roof joists.

what is the diameter of that bin? and the height?
I would love to have a house in this style. Of course without all of the air flow.any idea how much per sq. ft. It would cost for ,say, 2000 sq. ft. House?

powering , to me it sounds like some over the top stoner kid would do.
