i know I'm late as hell (lol) to the party but i just wanted to extend my appreciation for providing legitimate gaming discussion here. u were right back then & certainly right now that it's nearly 2017. i will echo your sentiments & say that i refuse to 'rent' games & or dlc for full price- gamers who care about gaming must stand up to big companies like Micro$haft & $ony that doesn't give a damn about gamers. in fact it almost seems like they were attempting to sabotage console gaming by completely altering the landscape back then. I'll never subscribe to renting, leasing, or streaming games in digital format because the nanosecond your console blows & or they pull the servers, you're screwed.
while i get what you are saying. it is actually fighting an uphill battle. eventually drm is going to be the norm. and everything on console will be digital. once the internet is a world wide thing in all areas, it will happen. and hard copy games will vanish.
I don't know how well the XBox One is going to do, other than you and myself no one below has said they're interested in one even after the DRM. A position I most certainly can't blame anyone for taking.
Thanks man, I appreciate that. I like guys like AlphaOmegaSin, he gets the core message out there. Sadly, most people don't want the whole discussion, but I'm happy to do it.
I reserved it from Amazon. What this means is I didn't put a single cent in to anyone's pocket. But it gives me the option to have it on day one, provided Microsoft earns my trust back. Five months before launch is a long time, they could unleash something amazing. If they don't, I can cancel my pre-order at any time, and probably will. Yakuza is nice, but it's not Shenmue.
I've been listening to your videos non stop this week, I'm really enjoying your opinions from years back. I subbed years ago to watch your yearly birthday videos on the consoles but I'm finding your other content enjoyable to.
I like the idea of it being a bonus feature like that, yes. Though with DVDs and Blu-Rays that come with digital copy discs, I just throw those discs away.
i really hate digital also. i love retail, as it shows i have something apart from a file. but mark my words drm will be a thing in the future and retail copies will vanish completely.
I think the label of the group of people you're looking to label is "libertarians"... "Microsoft are free to implement restrictive policies, and we are free as consumers to not buy them"
It’s 2024 and Sony and Microsoft have brought digital gaming and no one was saying something against ist. We are one generation from this Xbox one model comes in effect.
I expressed the facts. There was fine print in that message that essentially said, that used games policy applied only to Sony brand titles. Third party developers have the choice to implement DRM. But with Microsoft's reversal, Sony may remove that option from the developers.
This somehow popped up after watching a country music video. Hilarious. Also, crazy that I've been entertained by this guy on TH-cam for over a decade now. If you see this Adam, thanks for all the great content and entertainment. Love the new Flying and Eating too!
I never said it didn't. In fact in an older video I broke that down and said the PS3 did outsell it, but that doesn't necessarily mean it won. If it did, we'd all hand the crown to the Wii.
The industry has a problem, no one disputes that. The possible solution is what causes the problem. While I can't necessarily offer a perfect option, I can tell you that treating customers like criminals isn't the way to go.
In hindsight, a big part of why these huge companies continue to do crap like this and screw consumers, is because they know it's one big focus group activity. They can announce a terrible console and if people don't like it, they can change what wasn't liked and people will still buy it immediately quickly forgetting what the company tried to do to them. I know the company loses some money that way and it's not easy to make those changes and they'd prefer that customers are just okay with it all from the beginning, but they really aren't out anything by taking this approach. Millions and millions of consoles will still be moved either way. There's no real lasting lesson learned.
Okay, here is what happened. Sony said they won't do any DRM on Sony brand titles. That is 100% true. After E3 they came out and said that third party titles will still have the option to block used games, it's up to the publisher. But likely none of this shit matters now that Microsoft has removed all DRM. Sony will likely retract that statement now. So don't worry about it.
It's what I read, so I reported it. I have no doubt XBox One's sales have increased. But it's easy to prove. Go try to buy the XBox One Day One edition, it's in stock. Then go try to buy the Launch Model PS4. Been sold out for a while now.
Sony said their first party titles won't have restrictions, but they will allow third party companies to block them. That news surfaced after E3. That doesn't mean third party developers will use that ability. This may not matter however, as now that Microsoft has changed their position completely, Sony will likely follow suit.
I'm sorry to hear that man, but if my video helps you cheer up then I am honored to help. And if you'd rather remain silent and in isolation, by all means do that. Do what will make you feel better.
I did hear that prior to their reveal thing. It PROBABLY was in place, but they ended up removing it because the shit storm was bad enough. But, that's a guess.
Thanks. Tell them to go look at the digital game library on the XBox 360. Titles that are years old, that are maybe $10 or $20 new on Amazon, are still $60 on their network. Microsoft wasn't going to do a Steam sales type of thing. Major Nelson was directly confronted with that question and he dodged it because he knew they wouldn't. They believed they had us by the balls, but they were insanely wrong.
Here's the thing, the Kinect can be awesome...in theory. But in practice it's always been a failure. But as I said, we don't know about the new one yet. But honestly, I'm just not interested in it.
Even though this visit is six years old, it’s still great to watch… So funny when you get so raw over these issues! You are a legend Sir.

10 years ago, damn. I still remember the summer of 2013 like it was yesterday, so disappointing as an Xbox fan.
I don't know how well the XBox One is going to do, other than you and myself no one below has said they're interested in one even after the DRM. A position I most certainly can't blame anyone for taking.

2013: we voted with our wallets against DRM. RIP not owning your games.
2020: GamePass and streaming are the future! RIP owning your games.
It's because we are in the minority and the majority casual gamer's are the one's pushing this steaming services and only digital.
I've been listening to your videos non stop this week, I'm really enjoying your opinions from years back. I subbed years ago to watch your yearly birthday videos on the consoles but I'm finding your other content enjoyable to.
We as gamers stood as one in that moment of time....keep doing it, because we are the voice of the industry. ~in gaming we stand.
Thanks.
I hope you enjoy it, and thanks for watching this stuff.
0:12 when you’re mom catches you coming home late
Odds are they'll make a second "slim" version that doesn't use the moronic Kinect to turn the thing on and off.
Love having your videos on play whilst I'm working, really interesting to listen to and I pick up a lot of fun facts. Thanks and keep it up. +1sub
I like the idea of it being a bonus feature like that, yes.
Though with DVDs and Blu-Rays that come with digital copy discs, I just throw those discs away.
FUCK DIGITAL!!! This relates to music as well as to video games.
i really hate digital also. i love retail, as it shows i have something apart from a file. but mark my words drm will be a thing in the future and retail copies will vanish completely.
I look forward to seeing it. Thanks for watching.
2021:............Did we "Win".......
........
...?
Maybe I will do that eventually.
Thanks for watching.
How the fuck does this channel only have 40,000 subscribers....
I have no idea how it even got that high to be honest.
AdamKoralik and still rising
Hi, i'm a new sub! Give us time and we shall come :-)
dend1
40k is a lot of people.
Lucas Redmond FIGURE IT OUT!
Thank you for your feedback.
It seems very few people are interested in the XBox One.
Xbox Live Adamantium! Genius!
Thanks.
Thank you for taking the time to watch the movie.
Me too, but I figured it'd help hold people over.
I think the label of the group of people you're looking to label is "libertarians"...
"Microsoft are free to implement restrictive policies, and we are free as consumers to not buy them"
Exactly, though EA did actually say they're done with online passes.
Presumably to fix their image a bit.
WII U MASTER RACE lol xD
It’s 2024 and Sony and Microsoft have brought digital gaming and no one was saying something against ist. We are one generation from this Xbox one model comes in effect.
im getting wii u because it has the least bullshit
Thanks for watching, and for your feedback.
snk fanboys, all six of'em
hahahahaha
Ikari Warriors!
That was what I thought I heard initially. But I think he meant the six groups of fan base. Lol
Thank you for taking the time to watch.
I expressed the facts. There was fine print in that message that essentially said, that used games policy applied only to Sony brand titles. Third party developers have the choice to implement DRM.

Thanks man, and thank you for watching.
It's true.
When you look at the total global numbers the PS3 ends up beating it, but not until last year.
Damn right bro, thanks for watching as always my friend.
Agreed. Thanks for watching man.
This somehow popped up after watching a country music video. Hilarious. Also, crazy that I've been entertained by this guy on TH-cam for over a decade now. If you see this Adam, thanks for all the great content and entertainment. Love the new Flying and Eating too!
Thanks man.
You'd be surprised how many people leave little troll comments that seem to assume I'll never see them. Weird how people think that.
An honor to have you here sir.
Exactly, we really do have power when we work together.
I never said it didn't.
In fact in an older video I broke that down and said the PS3 did outsell it, but that doesn't necessarily mean it won.
If it did, we'd all hand the crown to the Wii.

Thank you for watching.
Sure thing, thanks for watching.
Thank you for your feedback man. Fortunately they removed those horrible policies, but they still have a ways to go to make it up to us.
Yes, yes it is. I address that in the video sir.
It means I probably won't favor one over the other. With multi-plats I'll see which version seems likely to be better.
I still have both pre-ordered, yes.
Thanks by the way.
Thanks for watching!
First, thanks for watching.
Second, I'm glad you agree.
Third, I don't blame you, we must all beware the serpent.
Fourth, thank you sir, I'll try.
Well I'm glad you love me, thanks for watching.

I certainly don't blame you, and I essentially agree.
Microsoft has a lot of work to do to repair their image.
Thank you for watching man.
Okay, here is what happened.
Sony said they won't do any DRM on Sony brand titles. That is 100% true.

Sony will likely retract that statement now. So don't worry about it.
One of the developers came out the other day and said it was only 15-45 minutes. So apparently that's true.
Thanks.
Sony came out and said they'd leave it up to the developers, now that Microsoft did this odds are those unclear rumors will fade entirely.
No worries bro. You'll always be welcome back.
Thanks for watching.

Thanks man.
And thank you for being the person most responsible for making me do that first XBox One rant.
Thanks for watching man!
It should, yes. But since the console isn't released and we don't know everything yet, it's hard to say.
I'm sorry to hear that man, but if my video helps you cheer up then I am honored to help. And if you'd rather remain silent and in isolation, by all means do that. Do what will make you feel better.
Thank you for your feedback.
Thanks for watching man.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I do my best to interact with everyone.
I agree. Odds are they'll remove it eventually to keep it competitive.
When you try to type a new comment it should offer you the option to "create or post a video response." From there you select your video.
I did hear that prior to their reveal thing. It PROBABLY was in place, but they ended up removing it because the shit storm was bad enough. But, that's a guess.
Thank you for your feedback sir.
Completely depends on where you pre-order it.
Thanks for watching bro.
Thanks for watching, hope the pizza was good.
Did you see my other XBox One rant? I talked a lot about digital rental services in that.
Thanks, I'm glad you like them.
You get used to making videos eventually.
And thanks for your feedback, I did read it all.
I believe I addressed all of that in the video.
No worries bro, I wouldn't noticed if you hadn't said that. Your grasp of English is quite good my friend.
Thanks.
Tell them to go look at the digital game library on the XBox 360. Titles that are years old, that are maybe $10 or $20 new on Amazon, are still $60 on their network.

Very true, I should have mentioned the slim towards the end of my video.
Hardware is meant to be a bonus to enhance the gaming experience, it doesn't dictate it.
I'm glad you agree, I also agree with everything you just said.
Really liked the videos on this topic. Fun to take a walk down memory lane.
Hope you enjoy it.
Yeah, I've been feeling like that a lot over the last day or so.
Yeah, a lot of people seem to feel the same way.
Correct, they never did that.
But they toyed with the idea, and still are with the PS4. But I imagine that will fade in to the ether.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on it sir.
No, when I made the video that was still their status. But now they've totally done away with it.
As for EA, yes they've done away with online passes.
I've worn several of the Shenmue ones in various videos actually.
The Vita uses something similar to SD cards, the DS is also just as good of an example.
I could see it working.
My pre-order is still in place, yes.
Well kudos to you man, it probably won't take long before it's in those history books.
You'd be correct.
Nothing wrong with them really, I just prefer a TV and a controller.
Good good.
I think it might be the only language they understand.
Thanks for your feedback, though I encourage a response video...hint hint...
