    Repair? I thought the doors were supposed to be that way.

    Here in UK we can buy the replacement channel to replace that bottom section of the doors and weld in the new steel to the frame after cutting out the corroded section. This summer I have both my door bottoms to do. There still needs to be some glue or sealant between the frame and the aluminium skin to stop the electrolytic corrosion, but a good repair should be good for 20 years when done properly and treated with internal wax or corrosion inhibiter. It is cheaper to do that than buy replacement doors which may have corrosion started already. New doors are very expensive.

    Lotus glue their car chassis together.. Good quality glue is probably stronger than welding.. Great video!

    Why Land Rover never galvanised it’s chassis bulkhead’s and door frames, they would have solved one of the biggest problems with their vehicles.

    That screwdriver is having an identoty crisis, and the door's thinking " Oh no, another bodge job!, please just weld in a new repair section, like proper Landy folk have done fir decades." Its not a ******* space shuttle 🤣😂🤣

    How to prevent this from happening?

    • @vic6820
      @vic6820 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Water gets in via the window "seal". Silicone is the answer.

      I did replace the window rubbers at the base of the windows a year ago, and checked the drainage holes at the lower door edge - but I guess the damage was already done🧐. Another bit of design excellence from Solihull😅? But Dakota has had a hard life through the years, so can't complain too much😉
