Blaming the parents is a valid point; however, we as a society must move beyond the blame game and actually hold these young people responsible for their own actions. It's not enough to just say "where are the parents". Arrest these punks and put them in jail for a few months. I would say the blame lies with the liberalization of our justice system. Laws are in place and punishments are in place for those laws. However, the courts handing down lighter sentences and lawmakers/politicians passing new softer laws to protect said criminals are where the problem lies. Cops can put them in jail all day long, but they don't stay there.

My friend has been a teacher for a while and she said this crop of kids the last few years are really dumb and really bad. She said a lot of them read at a 2nd grade level (high school), and all their parents have to do is call and complain now to get them out of everything.

Blaming the parents is a valid point; however, we as a society must move beyond the blame game and actually hold these young people responsible for their own actions. It's not enough to just say "where are the parents". Arrest these punks and put them in jail for a few months. I would say the blame lies with the liberalization of our justice system. Laws are in place and punishments are in place for those laws. However, the courts handing down lighter sentences and lawmakers/politicians passing new softer laws to protect said criminals are where the problem lies. Cops can put them in jail all day long, but they don't stay there.

We need to have the National Guard destroy all exit and entry points to the city to make sure those criminals spread to the nearby regions.
