Greg Roman isn't a terrible OC but the pass game is a concern. That's why Jim Harbaugh went out and hired Marcus Brady and Shane Day to compliment Greg Roman's deficiencies in his passing scheme. I'm so excited to see what this offense looks like and how Justin Herbert plays especially with Shane Day back in LA! 🙏⚡
Ive been a charger fan for over 20 years. Never have I seen a fan dissect an offense and defense like you. amazing bro... you should go coach a peewee team.
I just wanted to say Ive been watching your content all season long and wanted to let you know how much I ,and I’m sure all of us, appreciate you putting these videos out. You know your shit and I haven’t been using social media as much so these videos help a ton. I can see you being one of the biggest chargers content creators in a few years when everyone hops on the bandwagon 🤣⚡️⚡️⚡️ bolt up baby.
I too want Herbert to become a top 10 QB BUT I also want to win and if that means less stats (but more rings) for Herbert then I’m all for it. And the end of the day playoffs are what matter. LT, Gates, Rivers, Keenan, Merriman, Seau, and many more never got the respect they deserved because of lack of playoff stats/rings. We need rings
@fscorpion678 Obviously, I understand what harbaugh is all about. I just don't want to see Herbert become Lamar Jackson when he's got so much potential. I want the wins primarily and for it to be pretty secondarily.
Well done video Mike. I subscribed. Let's face it. Kap had a fastball but he was dumb. None of those QB's had the read ability Herbert has. Nor did they throw the ball with the accuracy Herbert does. Not even close!
Brand new Chargers fan, I have my custom jersey coming, I'm very excited about this team. We need JJ to develop behind Herbert OR be an insurance policy for injury. Great Job with all the detailed and enthusiastic content. CHARGED UP!
The one area that actually does encourage me with the Greg Roman hire, is his expertise with dual threat quarterbacks. Anyone who has seen Justin Herbert run, immediately realizes, the dude is a threat with his legs. RPOs will open up with the running and passing games. Justin always seems to get hurt in the pocket....not running with the football.
I still think we should bring back Zander Horvath and make him a TE; he's a good blocker, he's strong and fights for yardage, and I think he would be jazzed to be in a chargers uniform again. He was so under utilized during his time with L.A and I think he would want to prove himself and show what he's capable of as a TE.
I’m excited for a run heavy scheme. Herbo for 1,000 rushing this year 😂 But seriously it should help the pass plays develop as the box gets stacked throughout the game.
Going to have to wait and see. Next season will be all new coaches with all new players and all new systems. I expect a rough start. Can’t wait to see the schedule.
I'm old school i think a strong running game would be a plus for Justin Herbert the running attack last year didn't work last year because their running back was more of a receiving threat than running threat
I don't think it's a bad thing unless our RBs do terrible. The pass will look different for sure but i think the idea is for Roman to install the run game. If we can make defenses honest, herbert will pick them apart. Doesn't matter who the OC is. Herbert will find the mismatch and exploit it. Which I think would give herbert more freedom to shine. Roman understands the run fully. He's not just gonna coach up the backs, he also will coach up the line. Which is what I think is probably most beneficial in his scheme. Hortiz and harbaugh made big emphasis on "protecting the franchise" it only makes sense for Roman to come in. To help build the line. Idk, my outlook on the hire.
Even the plays where it did breakdown there was still room for LJ to run anyway. Herbert may not get as far but should still get a gain in those situations where he has to run.
Harbaugh and Staff have an advantage with College Players talent knowledge. These next two Drafts seasons will bolster and reinforce the Team Roster . We need to trade Bosa and move on from Mike Williams. Somehow keep Mack and Kendricks because if we get rid of those guys we’ll be extremely thin at Edge & LB especially LB because Murray needs to be replaced Asap! Also Pipkins needs to be replaced NO sugar coating it. ⚡️🐴 🏈
Keenan Allen has no YAC to speak of. Once he's caught the ball, he's done. He ain't going anywhere or beating any defender to the endzone, so relying only on him is just hard work, having to keep getting chunks to move down the field. There are no easy drives where you can get to the endzone with one play.
Old fashioned football is what the chargers offense need. Pound the rock, get that north and south 6 foot 220 lb rb physical . Wear down defenses, take pressure out the QB and OL. Loved the hire.
This guy spends a lot of time on FB! :) Don't know Roman's work (and really have been watching FB out of the corner of my eye the last while) but it sounds like the Chargers are going for a collaborative approach (our "government" and electorate should check that out) that could bode well. As far as a run centric approach, it remains to be seen how that will flesh out (game plan should depend on the opponent too) but both of the teams in the S.B. this year are not bombs away, though they do that. And an offense that relies more heavily on the run implies a much better O-line, which the Chargers need anyway. Create a balanced approach that keeps defenses honest, one that could even work with multiple QB's. Of course, you need the players that can achieve that.
Will be interesting to focus on what Joe Brady brings to the table -- I'm sure Greg Roman is going to leave a lot of the passing offense to Brady if he's got the chops.
I mean you have to ask the question have Roman ever had a Justin Herbert at the pro level? Can’t blame the man for running the ball when you have mobile QBs atleast we have an experienced OC that has experience calling plays at the highest level. Every coach has a flaw but if he can create the balanced we need who gives a dam about what happened in Baltimore one could argue they didn’t have the WRs
Roman needs to be paired with a dual threat QB. Putting him together with a QB that is the only one to rush for 90 yds and pass for 380 yds in a game would be his ideal landing spot. Oh wait....
Let's hope Greg Roman can channel his inner Don Shula who ran the ball in the 1970s when he had HoF running backs and threw the ball later on when he had Dan Marino.
Relax this hire is going to rescue Herbert's career ..... he can even be more dangerous if he actually had a running game, because defenses have to stop te run first. Last year they keyed on Herbert and the passing game because there was no running game to speak of.....
Greg Roman isn't a terrible OC but the pass game is a concern. That's why Jim Harbaugh went out and hired Marcus Brady and Shane Day to compliment Greg Roman's deficiencies in his passing scheme.

Positive look, respect

Just commented the same thing lmao. He does his research before everything too which I love. ⚡️
Greatest backhanded compliment I’ve ever seen

I agree with you that Herbert probably had input on Shane Day. So excited about the things happening in the Charger organization.
Absolutely those two had a bond lol
I hope Herbert can still keep pace with all the records. I want acho to stfu.
Who wouldn't?
Records be Dammed. Wins and Rings....ALL THAT MATTRS
I too want Herbert to become a top 10 QB BUT I also want to win and if that means less stats (but more rings) for Herbert then I’m all for it. And the end of the day playoffs are what matter. If you think he's doing 45TDs and 5000 yards he's not. Thats not the point.

⚡you killing it bro keep up the good work⚡ #boltup
Bro this staff is so good, I cannot wait 🎉
Great job bro!Ike yor video a lot.
As usual, very nice breakdown!
Good stuff ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️keep up good work 👍

Welcome!!!!!!! We need all the fans we can get. You are obviously a smart and discerning individual
We need a bunch of Michigan guys to be tone and culture setters too! They have a great RB TE Guard DT CB etc
Great points on Shane day. I had forgotten he was in Houston this season
Greg Roman had best offense in 2019 for ravens
Almost a complete sentence

Anyone who has seen Justin Herbert run, immediately realizes, the dude is a threat with his legs. RPOs will open up with the running and passing games. Dude-- you are young but so good!!! Very, very impressed with your knowledge!

I got a question, is John Harbaugh not going to call the offensive plays?
May U please make a video on Austin ekeler leaving + Saquon barkley possibly coming to the chargers?
Did you see that harbaugh plans on keeping ek?
I'm old school i think a strong running game would be a plus for Justin Herbert the running attack last year didn't work last year because their running back was more of a receiving threat than running threat

No worries here, Herbert will make the OC look good. I believe the offense will balance out, considering the new staff that's in place.
Even the plays where it did breakdown there was still room for LJ to run anyway. Herbert may not get as far but should still get a gain in those situations where he has to run.

When Shane Day was there, magical things happened.

I definitely see bowers at 5 with this signing
YEEESSS
I don't think it matters with the OC cuz jimmy boy gonna call all them plays anyways
Will be interesting to focus on what Joe Brady brings to the table -- I'm sure Greg Roman is going to leave a lot of the passing offense to Brady if he's got the chops.
Did you mean Marcus Brady?
Duh, yeah. @@Progmeister-tb3sn
Will it work? It better! I'm going on 5 decades with this franchise.
I mean you have to ask the question have Roman ever had a Justin Herbert at the pro level? Justin Herbert can unlock the offense with his legs watch Roman work his magic
Offense was never the problem im worry about the defense
I trust coach, no expense is being spared so i assume Greg is the best man for the job.

The Chargers should trade a 6 or 7 round pick for Zach Wilson for depth
Harbaugh teams call offensive plays by committee …. one person does not call the plays
Greg Roman needs to hear about Jordan Morgan University of Arizona U of A Jordan Morgan offensive lineman pass-blocking run-blocking specialist
I have faith in all that harbaugh does
The Chargers should trade a 6 or 7 round pick for Zach Wilson
I was disappointed honestly when he got hired. But hey, everyone knows Herbert can throw, we desperately need a running game
Harbaugh thinks he is good for what he wants, that is good enough for me. Please, people calm down. Trust in these experts
Let's hope Greg Roman can channel his inner Don Shula who ran the ball in the 1970s when he had HoF running backs and threw the ball later on when he had Dan Marino.
Lamar Jackson looks to run and the difference will be Justin Herbert doesn't want to be a run quarterback solar scheme will be run first past second
Well it looks like he’s bad for Herbie now. Romans offense sucks.
I call BS. No Excuses in the NFL. I hate this hire (Roman). We will see, I hope I am wrong
We have Marcus Brady and Shane Day, chill
Harbaugh will have the last say, that's what gives me confidence.
Relax this hire is going to rescue Herbert's career ..... he can even be more dangerous if he actually had a running game, because defenses have to stop te run first. Last year they keyed on Herbert and the passing game because there was no running game to speak of.....
