Collapse. Redesign. Rebuild. Reclaim. Bath Rugby are by no means ‘Back’, but the foundations of something special being achieved have been set by Johann Van Graan’s squad. This video showcases the triumphs and challenges of Bath Rugby from 2021-2023 I hope this video captures the optimism felt by myself and others for the future!
So good to see Bath playing in a way that fits the talented squad they have. Even as a Quins fan, the scores they put on us at Twickenham were beautiful. Premiership isn't the same without a competitive Bath
Subscribed. This was fantastic. Being an Exeter fan, I didn't think I would find myself so pumped for the future of Bath Rugby. Excellently edited, well paced and very exciting!
As tough as it was seeing my Bears pipped to the post for the Heineken Cup next season, I am happy for my SW Bros! I think Bath will finish top 4 next season in the Premiership. Van Graan is a great coach so kudos to Bath for getting him.
personally I think the top 4 will remain unchanged but I have little doubt Bath be up there fighting and will probably finish 5th or so (Irish and Quins will probably be up there too). It's tough to see what's happening at Bristol, though. I think they're gonna have another tough year next year. I hope Im wrong, though! I always wanna see the West Country clubs doing well
They have a hell of a team. I really wanted to buy a season ticket at the Rec this year though I live in London. They have quite a few of my favourite players. I thought they'd win the prem this year with the squad they have. The only position where I think they need strengthening is lock. I'd love it if they could bring Junior Kpoku over from France, or nab Nick Isiekwe from Saracens.
During the covid seasons and the season that followed I noticed we weren’t really signing a many or any big name players. I think during that time when the Premiership said it was doing away with relegation for a few seasons the powers that be basically said right we’re literally going to try and survive this. During that time we were finishing bottom or second bottom. However, and it’s a big however, during that time Wasps and Worcester went to the sh1t pan. When Worcester went under we nabbed Ted Hill and Ollie Lawrence (amongst some others from Worcester and Wasps) and almost immediately those two made a huge impact. Dave Atwood back at lock was also a big signing. Both Hill and Lawrence score a lot of try’s and they dragged other players along with them. Let’s be frank, Saracens played their reserves vs us and that had a bearing on us getting Champions cup but we’ve had bad luck, well, horrendous luck with injuries in the last 2-3 years so that came back to us a bit in that game. With respect No way in hell we’re we gonna beat a full strength Sarries by 30-40 points. Let’s hope Finn Russell fires for us and doesn’t end up like Steven Donald. And lets hope we have better luck with injuries.
I think Hooper appointed pretty conservatively. With the exception of Cameron Redpath and Ben Spencer there weren't many names that were brought in outside of Bath that made a big difference. JVG's recruitment, however, I think has been exceptional. Not just the Worcester and Wasps boys, but Annett, Gallagher, Schreuder, Colete, Attwood, Van Velze, Roux, du Toit and obviously Finn Russell. The squad feels so much more threatening now and has tons of depth

@@rugbyrecitation don’t get the fans too excited…I’m sure Bath Rugby would repost a part 2

Still angers me seeing Cipriani in a bath jersey
