The more I learn about my et-8550 , the more I love it! In fact it’s such an awesome printer that I’m saving for a second one to use as a regular printer
I followed your video to set up my Epson ET 2850. When I print, the pink is too orange. I took the png I am using to a local vendor and she printed it out and sublimated on a piece of polyester I brought along, she has an Epson, and the colors were perfect! I am getting so frustrated. I have spent hours trying to get the printer to work correctly. Any suggestions for me? I can’t find a number for Hiipoo, is there one? Is it possible my ink is bad?
Any luck figuring this out? I’m having the same issue with pinks/reds.

Thank you for helping! You're the only video that I could find that actually showed me how to download the icc driver to mac. Others just "assumed" the viewer knew how! Worked out perfeect.

Thank you. I didn't realize how easy it was to use the printer as sublimation. I have an extra ET-8550 collecting dust, so I will go ahead and order the sublimation ink :)
I have this printer but I already have regular ink in it. But now I want to convert it to sublimation printer. Can I still convert it by replacing the regular ink with the sublimation ink? Or I must buy a new printer for sublimation.
What was your solution, I have the same exact situation
Do you have any idea if the ink lasts for a long time? With the regular epson ecotank the ink lasts for a long time.
Thank you for a wonderful video. I just purchased and set up my 8850 on my Mac with Epson Driver version 13.05 using Hippo but when I installed the software it had so many color settings I had not seen for this model on videos using Epson's Icc, I was confused to what settings to use. I located the ET 8550 Hippo Icc you mentioned, dropped it into the Profile page and printed out a PNG file but the print came out very light. I know it gets lighter when pressed but it looks too faint. I had the Epson 2720 and it was a breeze to set up, but stopped after two years. I am using a Mac with no Photoshop. I use Silhouette. Any help would be great. Thanks

The ET-8550 Hippoo profile provides awful results on my new 8550 with Hippoo ink/paper. Wrong colors, under-saturated. And I don't seem top be alone in this. Any suggestions?

Hi my colors are horrible I will be testing my colors tonight I saw a different TH-camr use icc profiles for a 2750 on her 8550 and worked perfectly

If using white sublimation ink, which tank so you put in into?
I didn't know you can use hiipoo ink with ET8550 ? I thought it only works with ET 1500

I just got this today. I had finished setting it up before I saw your video, and was glad to see I did the same things you did (including using regular paper for the tests). Question: in the printer settings, after you set the paper size, what do you use for the paper type?
This is great if you have a Mac but not if you use a pc.

I already had my Epson 8550 on my Dell computer but recently changed to an iMac. The printer automatically pulled up. My question is when you print your images does your ink already be dry.

If you look at the complete file name it has the ET name on it. That's what I did. Thank you for making the mistake though so I didn't ha ha

ok what if when you do the print test qand unluckily i didnt come out perfect as yours did done the cleaning 3 times still has messed up spots on the magenta and the gray
Have you added the icc profiles? Also what program do you use to print, that has caused me issues in the past.

No I haven’t.
@@JamelaPayne interesting. one example i can give is a more turquoise color coming out blue instead when using the icc but coming out fine using the default epson matte paper color profile

Why is this a great printer for sublimation if it doesn't print white? Just trying to make sure this the best printer for me.
Printers that sublimate doesnt have White colors. That dont exist. If you want White, Concert IT to DTF

Hi. I am not new to using Hiipoo inks or Epson, but new to using the 8550. I have the 4760 and have had no color issues. With the 8550 my reds are orangish and my greens are blue or turquoise. I have tried using Hiipoo 8550 ICC profile, but no luck. Any tips or ideas of what might be wrong? I have tried printing from Photoshop and Gimp. Gimp colors are better, but I cannot print size correctly. Photoshop prints sizes correctly, colors are way off.
That is odd. I have no issue with color. Are you sure you installed the correct icc profile?
I've had this printer for two weeks and I CAN NOT get the colors right either! I am beyond frustrated. I have used one set of in, paper and expensive blanks trying to figure this out!.. I've tried EVERY color profile....
Just got my printer and hippo ink. What are you talking about icc profiles. Un I had some broken likes in my cayan and had to do a power clean. Please help😊

I have wasted hours trying to make the color correct. It’s mainly that what should be pink is looking orange. I had someone print out the png and sublimate it and her colors were perfect. She uses Hiipoo ink and an Epson printer, so it’s got to be something with mine but I’m out of ideas of what to do

Hi Jamela, I've had the 8550 for a year and haven't figured out how to get the colors to print brightly. They are dull... and blacks are brown. I'll install the ICC color profile you posted, although its not the same ink, but I'll try anything at this point.
What ink are you using?
Can i use that same hippo ink to print stickers or i have to use regular ink first then install the hippo ink for sublimation
Don’t use the ink that comes with the printer, the inks aren’t interchangeable. Also if you are using regular ink jet ink for your stickers then no.
Bought this ink but unable to download the ICC Profile from their site. Says Server error everytime I try. Their shop seems like it is still a work in progress. There is no contact info on the page so I cannot write to them. I need the profile :(
I started putting black in photo black… is that gonna matter 🫣
Photo black cartridges are specially designed for photos and pictures. I don’t think you will get the vibrancy you are looking for.
@@JamelaPayne okay I’m just using this printer for sublimation… and my hippo box didn’t come with photo black ink… I didn’t realize until it was too late that the two are different. Should I be worried or try to pour out the black and replace it with photo black? Will it matter?
