We are Lia and AK, and we're excited to share our journey with you as we navigate the world of property investing, business, and working together as a couple.
AK: I left my corporate job after experiencing mental and physical health issues, and we started our TH-cam channel to document our journey as new property investors in 2019 with no upfront capital. Expect weekly videos where we provide project updates, share best practices, money-saving tips, and our learnings along the way.
Lia: With nearly a decade of experience building my own entertainment channel on TH-cam from 0 to over 330k followers, the unpredictable nature of a content creator's monthly income took a toll on my mental health. Starting my property journey was my way of future-proofing my income and creating a stable, regular source of revenue. Ultimately, my goal is to build a secure financial foundation for our future family.
Our goal is to make property investing accessible and understandable by sharing our story. We're passionate about inspiring others to take control of their lives, no matter what challenges they may face.

Also thanks for showing us the ones that "didn't work out right away" it's this full accurate perspective that makes it much more realistic and believable than channels where folks are all about showing only the best size of everything making it seem like it's easy going if you just do it right.

Everyone thinks that because the house down the street sold for X amount of pounds, they could get the same

I like the painting in the 2nd house bathroom. And the water heater is in that bathroom is a bonus.

You two always make learning and watching this stuff very educational, informative, clear, and fun. Love seeing your smiling faces. Miss your personal channel, but I get it that it's tough to do all the things. Big love from TN.

The (offers) funnel is a fundamental of numbers game, the more you input, theoretically the more you output, eventually anyways …in marketing it’s called hit rate. Cool to see it used here, have lots of things going so eventually one gets going

I'm so happy to get to watch one of your videos again. The question I kept thinking was how do people with large pieces of furniture fit it in the skinny hallways? 😅 Love you two!!! xo Jean

I knock on walls too. Don't know why. Checking for cracks or hidden voids I guess. Knock down the outside loo for additional space, or build in a charcoal/wood burning BBQ to give it that communal touch and added selling point.

Lia, I was watching an ancient Joel and Lia video and you guys said your public transit in London is more expensive than in USA....you said 34 pounds sterling per week? That is more than here! For my transportation within the county where I live, Santa Clara County, aka "Silicon Valley", I pay 90 USD per month (72 pounds, for the whole month) for infinite rides within the county.
If I want to go up to the City of San Francisco, I would typically take Bay Area Rapid Transit. This is $17.70 (14 pounds) round trip (56 miles or 90 km away), so I add that to the card when I go up there, takes about 70 minutes. 🙂 If you don't live in the Bay Area, there is an option to pay using their app, if you have the touch to pay tech on your phone. I will go up there typically once a month, but more often in summer, as they have a full size IMAX for movies. 🙂
If you fly from London to SFO and you're staying in downtown SF near Market and Powell, BART is only 28 minutes to the hotel. 🙂 Comparable to the Elizabeth Line, I think? 🙂

Hi, thank you guys for an amazing video. I have a question about bridging finance if you bridge 75% on a hmo and you pay the reminding deposit of 25%, for the refurb costs can you get a bridge loan on that as well or do you have to seek investors?

    • @jimboyuk1
      @jimboyuk1 วันที่ผ่านมา

Deposit and refurb costs would come out of your own pocket. I suspect however that this couple would tap their investors for this amount. So options are either you build up a bit of a cash working capital fund or you build a network of investors.

Not trying to throw shade on AK, but if he was hitting his head on that light fixture in the first house, it must have been very low, lol. It seems extremely odd that they would have something hanging that low right at the top of the stairs.

Interesting, I see you guys also buy homes that don't necessarily need as much work. Is it better to do that, since you don't have to invest money in doing construction on the building? That one with the historical external bathrooms, perhaps that roof would be a good place to mount solar. 🙂
Love Lia's black leather jacket, it reminds of the TV show here in the USA called Dark Angel! It was only two seasons...had Jessica Alba as a genetically enhanced warrior, in post apocalyptic Seattle, who escapes the training facility, and uses her powers to help the poor...she has super strength and super reflexes, to the point that she can dodge bullets, and beat up larger men very easily, it was a good show. Alas, it is not found on streaming services; you would have to buy the DVDs on Amazon or eBay. 🙂
