KIA makes the best SUVs and MPVs in this price range. Our company has bought 20 of the new 2015 KIA Sedonas and we are much more impressed mainly by the interior space and luxurious feel of the new KIAs over the older Toyota Siennas that we have. Honda and Toyota offer inferior alternatives and are more expensive.

Women wanting to keep up appearances has hurt the minivan more than any male ego issues. After all, who drives them? Once minivans were "out" and crossovers were "in" the fashion conscious wouldn't be seen dead in one. Its a silly thing. The minivan really is a great family truckster and if you have to put in a lot of interstate miles it is hard to beat the one for comfort over the long haul.
Now this is a van id let my mom buy. Shes so attached to her 2003 sienna and wont even consider an suv unless its an audi. Id be happy if she got this or the audi suv but i have a feeling this would be substantially cheaper

I had a 2003 dodge Grand Caravan. It was awesome. Maybe not the most sexiest vehocle but it was good looking and very confortable. I miss those golden days of minivans. When they were not that ugly and square as today's minivans.
I hope this MPV or minivan sells well, since Grand Caravan and Routan are gone. If Subaru were to make a minivan in the states with the Boxer 6 engine and AWD, it would be the best minivan with comfort and handling, despite having the Lineartronic CVT in it, hopefully able to tow around 3,500 lbs. like the Nissan Quest. It will also compete with the Toyota Sienna with AWD.
MPV is the right marketing solution to this segment. Minivan has a negative stigma and the category has to be re-introduced to regain share. I think it has worked for Mazda, don't know. But without question the real Utility Vehicle for human transport is the MPV (aka Minivan).

The only issue i have with this is that everything they claim to do distinguish it from the minivan segment all the other minivans offer or can do at least Chrysler actually builds these vans for industrial or business use the Ram C\V or the older caravans that the postal companies still use good looking van but we've all seen this before
Certainly a very good looking minivan, inside and out. The first company to offer a "light" off-road version (similar to a CUV) will have a hit on their side....nothing like a 4Runner but more like an MDX (of which shares the same platform as a minivan) with a little more ground clearance. Why not!?! There is no vehicle as practical and convenient as a minivan/van. Say what you want about SUVs but they are too tall for kids and no one really goes off-road anyway.

They don't have sto-n-go, so they are both a no go for me. I work out of my vans and take long trips with lots of tools and large components. My Town and Country limiteds carry 3 adults on long interstate trips with several hundred pounds of specialty tools. We are each in separate Captain's chairs in complete comfort. Nothing else comes close!

Today's so-called Mini-Vans should just be called Vans, because there's nothing mini about them. Remember when the Dodge Caravan, Honda Odyssey & Nissan Quest were much smaller than Ford Econolines? Not anymore, since they have gotten more bloated over the years, with things like built-in refrigerators, t.v. screens and vacuum cleaners. The only true Mini-Van in the U.S. market now is the Mazda5, which is sometimes called the "Mini-Mini-Van". That replaced the Mazda MPV in the U.S. In Japan, they still sell the Mazda MPV aka Mazda8 in 4wd and turbo.
I'm a huge FCA fan, but I hate the town n country. It's just an over expensive Grand Caravan and it's uglier than the G. Caravan. Plus FCA is killing of the G.Caravan.

What do you mean Chrysler 's walking away from the minivan segment? They are coming out with an electric and all wheel drive model very soon. Chrysler is spending big money on retooling their minivan assembly factory. I don't think they are stepping away at all. Let the Kia Sedona have its day under the spot light. The current Chrysler was ugly and clunky when it came out, and that was a long time ago. But he should know Chrysler is about to come up with a whole new one, and judging by the 200 it should be pretty slick. He also doesn't seem to know about the Nissan Quest.

This really just looks like a lipstick on a pig refresh of the (circa roughly 2005) last generation. I'm glad Kia still makes a minivan--they are very practical. However, I predict this will be the last Sedona. Remember when GM tried to make their minivan not a minivan with the Chevy Uplander, Saturn Relay, Pontiac Montana, Buick Terraza? It failed in the market...not to mention they were pitiful vehicles plagued with quality control issues.
We used to have a Pontiac Montana Van! My wife misses it more than any other vehicle we have had. I miss the Dodge Dakota pick up and F150 I used to have.

Wasn't the VW Microbus RWD and on its own platform and possibly body-on-frame like a truck? Minivans are car-based, FWD, unibody styled. I mean, the Chrysler minivan of the 1980s was just a stretched tall K-car.
There are other predecessors even before the VW Bus, but I think Chrysler is credited with invented the minivan because they're the first to call it a minivan and because their van was so hugely popular.
Still seems lots of wind/road noise. Anything that open for the cabin for this price point (even $50k) is capable of that just because it's like driving a drum. A Matrix is louder than a Corolla, an Sx4 Sportback louder than an SX4 sedan, etc. I'd say wait until Car & Driver tests this, since they list decibels for freeway cruising, WOT, etc.

Mazda minivans were also called MPV, but they stopped selling it almost 10 years ago.
This looks like it can go up against the Odyssey and Sienna. I like that reclining rear seat and styling is not too bad
I think Peter Schreyer just made the Sedona set the benchmark for minivans/MPVs b/c of that right rear reclining bucket seat.

Never in my wildest imagination did I expect you take a vehicle review and spend more time making fun of it's MPV vs Mini Van title than you spent actually reviewing the vehicle. There are other predecessors even before the VW Bus, but I think Chrysler is credited with invented the minivan because they're the first to call it a minivan and because their van was so hugely popular.

how's the wind noise?
Still seems lots of wind/road noise. Anything that open for the cabin for this price point (even $50k) is capable of that just because it's like driving a drum. A Matrix is louder than a Corolla, an Sx4 Sportback louder than an SX4 sedan, etc. I'd say wait until Car & Driver tests this, since they list decibels for freeway cruising, WOT, etc.
At result, kia design is better any honda mini van and Toyota etc...
Yah right Toyota will beat this van in years and stay reliable. So will honda oddessey. But my opinion. Had Kia Sedona before it was piece of crude.
