I’ve been reading the Book of Esther lately and as I watched this interview the thought came to me that surely this is another woman sent to the kingdom for such a time as this. Thank you Sister Nelson for your preparation and patience as you waited, not statically of course, to fulfill your foreordained role as companion and helpmeet to the prophet of God. We love and sustain the prophet and are especially grateful for you and your role in his life.
This is a comment well written and full of much truth. I was also thinking that this woman was also foreordained to be with this man, because she is eloquent in word, and has the faith and knowledge that a Prophet needs by his wide.

I feel sorry for those who have put a negative spin on this article. I don’t spend my time looking for things I don’t agree with. I spend it on things that lift me up, help me progress physically, spiritually and mentally. Those who have commented in a negative way have every right to their feelings. I just wonder why they take the time to search areas where they obviously do not agree with. If you are so secure in your own beliefs and feelings, why go into areas where they do not align? There are things in this world that I do not agree with. I try to respect those who feel that way. I also attempt to understand points of view that do not align with my own. I do not think less of them. I cannot imagine speaking ill will of them. I do not think less of you that comment in a negative way, even those who may speak against what I have to say. If I did, I would be the ultimate hypocrite. Maybe we could just try to all be just a little more kinder, a little bit more positive, but most importantly, a little bit more Christlike.
She has a gift to put into words that what she feels. We and our dear prophet are so lucky to have her. Her insight as a spouse is another testament that God is in charge. God works with exstreams to show us who really is doing the work i.e. Boy Samuel old testament, fisherman new testament, 14 y boy with restoration etc... today 94y invigorated man who is our prophet.

@ce collie There are a lot of men who claim to be prophet and say they are called of God. Sorry but that is not a test of a prophet. You can be easily deceived into believing that but it requires a biblical test
*SHE* *SAID* One of the things that caught my attention, being in south America this time is to see how much the people love the lord and are so drawn to the prophet. I have seen him changing in the last ten months, it is as though he has been unleashed. He is free to finally do what he came to earth to do. He is also free to follow through with things he has been concerned about, but could never do. Now that he is president he can do those things. I have seen him now be able to do those things that have been in his heart. I have seen him, as i have said, be clear about doctrine. I have seen him become younger, I have seen him become happier, because he is doing what he came to earth to do. So why would he not be happy. He was foreordained to be the prophet of GOD on the earth today and when you are finally doing what you said you would do, of course you are going to be happy. I can never talk about the truth of my husband is indeed the lords prophet, called by him and instructed by him, I can never even talk about that without choking up. I can fight tears pretty well but when it comes to that, when it comes to witnessing about the prophet of the lord i feel it deeply, every time. It is quite incredible, it catches me off guard. Certainly he has seen the faith of the people, he has seen the love of the people for the lord, now he has seen the love of the people for the temple. That means everything to my husband, to see the people and the missionaries travel far in order to receive GODS word for them. My husband is a global man, he is a techno guy, a global guy, he thinks outside of the box, he is not that interested in cutting the ham to fit inside of the pot. He is not just about "if it was tradition lets do something different", it is "let us look at why were we doing that" and that is what has caught his attention over and over again, when he sees things and says "what are we doing that for?" He is saying "what really is needful?". if we are really preparing the church and the world for the second coming of the savior, he is sincere about that. He does not want us spending money, time or energy on anything that is not really focused on that, it is pretty stunning. He is only reporting to the lord and he is fearless with that focus. That and his passion for preserving the agency of others. This is not a man who will say "you must", in fact he said to me the other day "i do not even want to use the word ""must"" in any of my talks, i do not like that word". The hymn that says he will call, persuade, direct, *unintelligible* , and bless with wisdom, love and light, blameless ways be good and kind but never force the human mind; That is Russel Marion Nelson, he will NEVER force the human mind. He loves to have the children stand and sing "i am a child of GOD", when he says to the parents "teach your children what really means" that is deep and loaded, if he really had time it would take him about two hours what he is really trying to say there. Because he is trying to say "your body and your spirit are really divine". He is very honoring of the lords timing and will say to me "Wendy, with just one shift in the rhythm of the heart, the lord can get you back". Here is the other thing about him being 94, it does make the rest of us feel badly when he just gets younger and stronger. If i ever talk about some aspect of my body that is not working, he will basically say "isn't that wonderful, do you see how the lord is preparing you to come home". Change is always a possibility, especially when you are focused on the lord. The restored gospel of Jesus Christ is the gospel of change, it is as simple as that, it is all about change. If we are not repenting, if we are not changing every day then we are not true disciples of Jesus Christ.

I love Wendy Nelson! I have always loved her and admired her for all that she is. When I heard President Nelson tell his cute, flirty way about having revelation to her on a date it was so endearing! And I loved her answer! She did as well and I know that is true. I’m am so happy for her reward or gift to be married to the most loving man. When he first became President and I heard him speak about that and women and his wife Dantzel and their kids I said outloud, “I want a husband just like him. He puts his wife first out of love and respect and is sincere and that is the way it is supposed to be. I can’t wait for all that Wendy will be blessed with one day! They will have children and they will be very blessed to call her Mom or Mother. I love you Sister Nelson! I have seen so many things I’ve said and felt be spoken about, it’s nice to hear the rest confirming what I’ve known and experienced in my life. It’s very beautiful to feel the peace and also have our prophet and other apostles speak of revelation or visions, dreams, a knowing. I also loved when he was first ordained, “Oh the things I want to tell you or would love to tell you.” It’s been a few years. It was out of pure love and sincerity. These two have become a beautifully perfect one together. It’s been amazing so see as well.
I feel very confident in our Prophet! We are both in the medical people! I see how he treats you Wendy! The mutual love and respect he is to! I'm way past my prime. I'm in my 40's and never been married! I want a man who will be similar to Brother Nelson!

Sister Wendy Nelson, you are such a powerful person and an inspiration to all of us! We love you! I love the Lord, I love His Gospel, very very much! I'm just sad that it has taken me 34 years to get to this point... The Lord has always told us what His Church should be called. Joseph Smith was able to make that absolutely clear by 1838(I think). "Mormon" was a term that had gotten ingrained into our society and something that we as a Church had adopted as our identity for so long, that it is now outside of Living Memory. I believe and know with all my heart, soul, and Spirit, that God has prepared your husband and His Church to be able to begin the process to get back our identity as Christ's Church! It is a long road ahead of us, but we will get there! Even if all of our critics and the anti's tell us otherwise, it doesn't change the fact that this is the Church of Jesus Christ. The Church is His. I know and testify to this! Despite what scientists and people of science say, despite what other Christians say with their own interpretation of the Bible, this is the Church with the fullness of His Gospel! It is a Living Church and I am exceedingly grateful to be a part of this! I'm looking forward to the years ahead! :)

It is concerning that she keeps saying he is doing what he has always wanted to do, revelation isn't doing what you want to do, but doing what the Lord guides you to do.
This has been the Lord preparing President Nelson for his role as Prophet at this time. Yes, it is revelation. President Nelson's mind is so prepared to receive these specific revelations for the Church at this time. Other prophets have had their minds prepared in different ways. The Lord doesn't call a robot as prophet, but an individual man, endowed with individual personality, character and interests that make him ideally suited for his calling at the time. If you think that revelation is pure dictation from heaven, or that it doesn't interact with the personality of the receiver, then you don't understand what revelation truly is. And you can receive your own personal revelation, in regards to President Nelson, his calling, and many other things. And the Lord will confirm the their truthfulness to you. He has to me. Go be with you.

A true man's man! And a lucky man to have the best wife! Two wives in fact! Whenever I've known men who had all daughters, even if they have one or two sons mixed in, especially if they have 4 or more daughters or 9 like President Nelson, they've always been the most inspired and perfect character and hard working men that I've ever known. And usually are flawless leaders. I'm assuming that most of the time for most women a woman has a perfecting influence on men. And Sister Wendy also said as much about President Nelson's other wife, that his first wife had made President Nelson a much more perfect man so that when Sister Wendy got him he was a nearly perfect man (to paraphrase). That's something every man should listen to and aspire to is to be perfected by a woman before he goes to meet God. The Prophet President Monson said in a letter he wrote right before dying, according to Elder Holland (to paraphrase), that the Elder now Prophet President Nelson was as perfect a man as the Lord had ever created. We now know that women played a major part in that! Women play a major part, probably one of the larger parts, in the perfecting of men. If women are not righteous, men are doomed! Brigham Young said it best (to paraphrase), "women control the world because women raise the rising generations." Thank God for prophets and for His daughters who apparently have so much more the influence on humanity and its greatness (even the Lord Himself seemed to place His mother and other women in His life on a much higher pedestal than the men except only God)! The scriptures are clear that a woman is expected to follow the man ONLY as he follows God and that God demands that a man take the upmost care for his wife and children and family. Too much of the world misunderstands that fact about God's will for how men MUST honor and praise and respect and protect and benefit women. Times are changing and the world is becoming educated at last! It's glorious! Men and women need each other and both as 100% equals. Utopia and paradise and heaven cannot exist without one or the other and by unrighteous dominion of one over the other!
I see congruent body language, congruent gestures. Also very clear eye accessing cues. She is not pausing to change her body language, it is natural and smooth. She continually is eye accessing to our left. It does not appear memorized. She is telling it how she sees it. I do not see any posturing or submissiveness when she speaks of him reporting to the Lord. Her eyes are focused on the person she is talking to and very direct. It reminds me of someone reporting the facts, that is the way it is.

In order for change to be right, it's timing should also be right. The best changes come when the time is right. So I think that what she is saying is that he had thought about these things, they had been on his heart and mind, and when the time was right, the changes were made and everyone involved is blessed.
Timing? I'll call you out on that big time. Why did the Lord need to wait to reveal his word to the church? The church wouldn't accept that? The members in 1830 wouldn't accept giving Blacks the priesthood? The members in 2018 wouldn't accept loving gays and letting them get married? Also pay attention to recent conference talks by Elder Cook where it is mentioned that all fifteen members of the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles received collective and individual revelation from the Lord concerning different courses of action. And yet people ask what's the harm of religion - and we cite all these different problems with religion: the global gag-rules and things like that , the oppression of different people - but there's a bigger harm with religion, and it's the reason why I'm outspoken about it, and that's because the average feel-good Johnny-in-the-pew person who is decent and kind and loving and good to their family and generally a good person to be around has polluted their mind to the point where they are unable to take credit for their accomplishments and responsibility for their actions. They are unable to interact on an interpersonal level with the people around them, to build a community in this cooperative society where that is absolutely essential. Mormons don't understand the gospel of grace at all. How dare this woman speak such blasphemy. Your husband is not a prophet, sweetheart; he will be told by Jesus at the great white throne "I never knew you, depart from me ye worker of iniquity". Nobody who has been saved would talk like this.
Revelation and leadership are strange bedfellows.... When I was young the general authorities would come to our Ward.... And I would step up at the end of the meeting and ask them when black people would be fully accepted.... And they said that there will come a time.... Which did come..... I think the time will come when women and gay people will also be accepted just as black people were....but God needs not only Prophets but also leaders.... As a baby I was bounced on Ezra Taft Benson's knees... The big thing about the Mormon church is that it is changeable.... And that no law or principle will be given unless the people are able to follow it.... God is not only an idealist but also a pragmatist.. I think the prophets are put here for a purpose.... That means everything to my husband, to see the people and the missionaries travel far in order to receive GODS word for them. My husband is a global man, he is a techno guy, a global guy, he thinks outside of the box, he is not that interested in cutting the ham to fit inside of the pot. He is not just about "if it was tradition lets do something different", it is "let us look at why were we doing that" and that is what has caught his attention over and over again, when he sees things and says "what are we doing that for?" He is saying "what really is needful?". if we are really preparing the church and the world for the second coming of the savior, he is sincere about that. He does not want us spending money, time or energy on anything that is not really focused on that, it is pretty stunning. He is only reporting to the lord and he is fearless with that focus. That and his passion for preserving the agency of others. This is not a man who will say "you must", in fact he said to me the other day "i do not even want to use the word ""must"" in any of my talks, i do not like that word". The hymn that says he will call, persuade, direct, *unintelligible* , and bless with wisdom, love and light, blameless ways be good and kind but never force the human mind; That is Russel Marion Nelson, he will NEVER force the human mind. He loves to have the children stand and sing "i am a child of GOD", when he says to the parents "teach your children what really means" that is deep and loaded, if he really had time it would take him about two hours what he is really trying to say there. Because he is trying to say "your body and your spirit are really divine". He is very honoring of the lords timing and will say to me "Wendy, with just one shift in the rhythm of the heart, the lord can get you back". Here is the other thing about him being 94, it does make the rest of us feel badly when he just gets younger and stronger. If i ever talk about some aspect of my body that is not working, he will basically say "isn't that wonderful, do you see how the lord is preparing you to come home". Change is always a possibility, especially when you are focused on the lord. The restored gospel of Jesus Christ is the gospel of change, it is as simple as that, it is all about change. If we are not repenting, if we are not changing every day then we are not true disciples of Jesus Christ.

I love Wendy Nelson! I have always loved her and admired her for all that she is. When I heard President Nelson tell his cute, flirty way about having revelation to her on a date it was so endearing! And I loved her answer! She did as well and I know that is true. I’m am so happy for her reward or gift to be married to the most loving man. When he first became President and I heard him speak about that and women and his wife Dantzel and their kids I said outloud, “I want a husband just like him. He puts his wife first out of love and respect and is sincere and that is the way it is supposed to be. I can’t wait for all that Wendy will be blessed with one day! They will have children and they will be very blessed to call her Mom or Mother. I love you Sister Nelson! I have seen so many things I’ve said and felt be spoken about, it’s nice to hear the rest confirming what I’ve known and experienced in my life. It’s very beautiful to feel the peace and also have our prophet and other apostles speak of revelation or visions, dreams, a knowing. I also loved when he was first ordained, “Oh the things I want to tell you or would love to tell you.” It’s been a few years. It was out of pure love and sincerity. These two have become a beautifully perfect one together. It’s been amazing so see as well.

The Lord has always told us what His Church should be called. Joseph Smith was able to make that absolutely clear by 1838(I think). "Mormon" was a term that had gotten ingrained into our society and something that we as a Church had adopted as our identity for so long, that it is now outside of Living Memory.
I believe and know with all my heart, soul, and Spirit, that God has prepared your husband and His Church to be able to begin the process to get back our identity as Christ's Church! It is a long road ahead of us, but we will get there!
Even if all of our critics and the anti's tell us otherwise, it doesn't change the fact that this is the Church of Jesus Christ. The Church is His. I know and testify to this! Despite what scientists and people of science say, despite what other Christians say with their own interpretation of the Bible, this is the Church with the fullness of His Gospel! It is a Living Church and I am exceedingly grateful to be a part of this! I'm looking forward to the years ahead! :)

It is concerning that she keeps saying he is doing what he has always wanted to do, revelation isn't doing what you want to do, but doing what the Lord guides you to do.
I think he has been waiting a very long time to accomplish what he wants. You are correct this has nothing to do with revelation.
This has been the Lord preparing President Nelson for his role as Prophet at this time. Yes, it is revelation. President Nelson's mind is so prepared to receive these specific revelations for the Church at this time. Other prophets have had their minds prepared in different ways. The Lord doesn't call a robot as prophet, but an individual man, endowed with individual personality, character and interests that make him ideally suited for his calling at the time. If you think that revelation is pure dictation from heaven, or that it doesn't interact with the personality of the receiver, then you don't understand what revelation truly is.
And you can receive your own personal revelation, in regards to President Nelson, his calling, and many other things. And the Lord will confirm the their truthfulness to you. He has to me. Go be with you.

A true man's man! And a lucky man to have the best wife! Two wives in fact! Whenever I've known men who had all daughters, even if they have one or two sons mixed in, especially if they have 4 or more daughters or 9 like President Nelson, they've always been the most inspired and perfect character and hard working men that I've ever known. And usually are flawless leaders. I'm assuming that most of the time for most women a woman has a perfecting influence on men. And Sister Wendy also said as much about President Nelson's other wife, that his first wife had made President Nelson a much more perfect man so that when Sister Wendy got him he was a nearly perfect man (to paraphrase). That's something every man should listen to and aspire to is to be perfected by a woman before he goes to meet God. The Prophet President Monson said in a letter he wrote right before dying, according to Elder Holland (to paraphrase), that the Elder now Prophet President Nelson was as perfect a man as the Lord had ever created. We now know that women played a major part in that! Women play a major part, probably one of the larger parts, in the perfecting of men. If women are not righteous, men are doomed! Brigham Young said it best (to paraphrase), "women control the world because women raise the rising generations." Thank God for prophets and for His daughters who apparently have so much more the influence on humanity and its greatness (even the Lord Himself seemed to place His mother and other women in His life on a much higher pedestal than the men except only God)! The scriptures are clear that a woman is expected to follow the man ONLY as he follows God and that God demands that a man take the upmost care for his wife and children and family. Too much of the world misunderstands that fact about God's will for how men MUST honor and praise and respect and protect and benefit women. Times are changing and the world is becoming educated at last! It's glorious! Men and women need each other and both as 100% equals. Utopia and paradise and heaven cannot exist without one or the other and by unrighteous dominion of one over the other!

Her body language during the interview tells a different story.
I see congruent body language, congruent gestures. Also very clear eye accessing cues. She is not pausing to change her body language, it is natural and smooth. She continually is eye accessing to our left. It does not appear memorized. She is telling it how she sees it. I do not see any posturing or submissiveness when she speaks of him reporting to the Lord. Her eyes are focused on the person she is talking to and very direct. It reminds me of someone reporting the facts, that is the way it is.

Wow, her statement about him finally doing things he has been concerned about for quite some time is very problematic, if Jesus is guiding this church. Is it possible he is making changes to the general church that are based on his own opinions rather than actual revelation from Jesus? Her comments are alarming.
In order for change to be right, it's timing should also be right. The best changes come when the time is right. So I think that what she is saying is that he had thought about these things, they had been on his heart and mind, and when the time was right, the changes were made and everyone involved is blessed.

Also pay attention to recent conference talks by Elder Cook where it is mentioned that all fifteen members of the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles received collective and individual revelation from the Lord concerning different courses of action. Revelation and leadership are strange bedfellows.... When I was young the general authorities would come to our Ward.... And I would step up at the end of the meeting and ask them when black people would be fully accepted.... And they said that there will come a time.... Which did come..... I think the time will come when women and gay people will also be accepted just as black people were....but God needs not only Prophets but also leaders.... As a baby I was bounced on Ezra Taft Benson's knees... The big thing about the Mormon church is that it is changeable.... And that no law or principle will be given unless the people are able to follow it.... God is not only an idealist but also a pragmatist.. I think the prophets are put here for a purpose....
