My thanks to you, A.P., for allowing me to be part of this fantastic discussion with Esslemont, who is not only a brilliant author but also a gracious person. And, as always, it’s a privilege and a blast to chat with you!

This was great. I mean, it's not just insightful, it really seems you 3 are having fun with that little chat! I'm so glad I managed to post my Stonewielder analysis not long ago. I hope Esslemont knows how much meaning his books have to so many of us :)
This was a really fine discussion. Cam seemed at ease in this friendly conversation. Seems like a really nice and humble chap! It was fun to see you two oldies giggle like kids at different points in the conversation 😊 Keep this coming! 🙏
Thank you for a great recap of the themes, insights and highlights of the first half of the ICE series. It has been a fantastic read for me. Looking forward to the second half 😊
Hilarious and enlightening as always, especially with the Co-Creator Esslemont himself! Not the most original statement, but to me the focus on how the “little people” have to react to the actions (and their consequences) by the “big people” seems as a natural extension of literature and movies based on the Vietnam War.
I am glad that you enjoyed it. Thank you for watching. I completely agree about Esslemont's thematic work, but I think that his writing in general doesn't garner the attention and appreciation that it deserves.

But much like music trademark suits, there are only so many notes to draw from.

Always a pleasure when you have ICE on and discuss the NotME. I do wonder.. does Cam still play RPGs? I recently watched Erikson playing a D&D one-shot, and it was hilarious. What would it take to have Cam run a game for Erikson, Professor Fireballs and Doctor Fantasy?
The interesting thing to me is that despite all the talk about "magic systems", in this series, mostly the warrens, there are other types of magic in this world that still work and are independant of the warren magic. Come on Cam, AD&D or Gurps, just pick one! [multi laughing emojis not accessible on my work pc]

The crimson guard is a direct reference to the bloodguard from Donaldson
I am such a dummy. I always forget the impact that Donaldson had on both of them because of how often we talk about Cook.
