- In addition to the police investigation into the Jack the Ripper atrocities, and the amateur detectives who were lured out onto the streets of Whitechapel in the hope that they might catch the killer, the mystery also caught the attention of spiritualists across the country, who began their own psychic endeavours to bring the murderer to justice.
In this video you will learn of the supernatural aspects of the case, and discover how mediums and thought-readers across the land ventured "beyond the veil" to contact the spirits of the victims in the hope that they would reveal the identity of their killer.
From the mysterious lady who claimed that Elizabeth Stride was her sister, and that she had been visited by her spirit at the moment of her death (this is my full video about her • The Mystery Of Mary Ma... ); to the celebrated mind reader who claimed that he had seen the perpetrator's face in a dream; you will take a fascinating journey through a little known aspect of the Jack the Ripper case.
You know what's funny, I avoid so many tubers on Jack the Ripper stories since they are either click-bait or are some wild theories that just don't hold water. You give facts as they are and have done a huge amount of research to come up with the newspaper articles from the time period. Thank you for time and research to produce a very excellent video.
but I think it's as you would say ,kookie talk.
I get exited every time you post a video Richard 😊 brilliant thank you
So nice of you
I get the impression you're not taking these entirely seriously Richard?
Whatever gave you that impression?!
The Victorian journalists seems to have been equally skeptical, which honor them.
The only supernatural mystery to
Me is why this channel doesn't have more views. It's informative and entertaining without being sensational (most of the time 👻)
It’s uncanny…I was just thinking of this channel and just happened to pick up my phone to watch U-tube,,and.!!!!!!
Once again a wonderful video giving us another detail surrounding this case…Funny thing my Aunt was a medium and my other aunt was a large.!..🤣😂🤣😂😂…Only having a jolly dear Boss..Thank you and all the best.!.🎩👍
I had to fight myself not to do the medium and large gag in the video!
Just woke up for work and i get this treat for when i get home. Thank you for the uploads 👍
Any time!
I’ve never mentioned this to anyone for fear of being called crazy, but for over 30 yrs, beginning as a teen, I’ve had a recurring dream about a sinister looking man, always wearing a green suit and hat, that always leaves me feeling very unsettled for days afterwards. I’ve never seen the man in person but have always had the strongest and strangest feeling that he’s a murderer. I don’t know what has caused me to dream this dozens of times for decades now but if I ever did actually see the guy in real life, I’d probably have a heart attack straight away!
Could that be dream invasion? I've heard of such things, it means the spirit of an evil person forces himself into someone's dreams. The evil person doesn't necessarily have to be deceased - evil people can do that while still alive. A lot of women report such things happening with their abusive exes. One woman cross checked with her abusive ex - turned out he knew all about it. I have experienced similar - I also cross checked with the abusive then friend and the first thing he said was "do you see the face of the man in your dreams"... that showed me that he was fully aware of what he was doing and he was worried I might have recognized him!
I don t wear all green anymore. I was all green when i started out

Great stories told with the usual aplomb! Murder by Decree is one of my favorite films Sutherland gives a haunting portrayal of Lees add th at to Christopher Plummer and James Mason are a fantastic Holmes and Watson. Add Anthony Quayle,Frank Finlay, and the Ripper? MAGIC!
Those poor policemen & detectives had an impossible job!
Indeed.
Murder By Decree is a great film.
No it's silly. Both as a Ripper film and as a Holmes film.
From Hell, with Johnnie Depp is a more graphic update on the storyline, but without Holmes.
@Concreteowl well, of course that's your opinion and I accept that. I, on the other hand, disagree.
If the story is silly, then the entire legend is as well. The only thing the film did was tell it. Of course Holmes and Watson, had nothing to do with Ripper lore, but if you're making a fictional tale based on the legends surrounding unsolved murders from the Victorian era, why not add Holmes into the mix?
@@davidcarr7436 holmes character showed ultimate respect for the victims and ridiculed the killer and his ilk, great film
I got my planchette out whilst watching this one!!! Lol… great presentation
Did a message come through?
@@JackTheRipperTours Please make more Jack The Ripper content is the message I'm getting. 😉😃👍
There’s mediums on YT still doing it.
Indeed, there are.
So there was as much of this nonsense then as there is nowadays.
Using the paranormal to catch a killer really shows how slick jack the ripper was
Why don't remote viewer's do a jack the ripper identity???if they can r.v things on the moon I'm sure they'll be able to tell us who jack was or at least tell who wasn't jack , .
Very public spirited of you to explain the phrase. The nonce For those prob numerous not familiar with the idiom
Fantastic channel ,,just a question ,Patricia Cornwall wrote a book detailing who she believed Jack the ripper to be ,,have you read the book ,,and if so,,what did you think. Personally ,I thought the book was pure fiction and badly written ..
Hi Anthony. Thank you for your kind words, and I'm pleased you enjoy the channel. I have read Patricia Cornwell's' books and I tend to agree with your assessment. I am planning a future video on her suspect though!
Her theory is basically a subset of Stephen Knight’s conspiracy as far as I’m concerned.
Badly written indeed
@@TheWinterwraith So was Murder By Decree to a large extent. Lees makes an appearance in the Michael Caine TV miniseries Jack the Ripper which aired in 1988. I also recall that Lees' daughter or wife had a gold cross and chain given to Lees by grateful prostitutes of the East End after the Ripper was snared.
Jeg nyder altid at lære om nye JTR-mistænkte og teorier. Bliver aldrig gammel og forbliver altid fascinerende.
(I never not enjoy learning of new JTR suspects and theories. Never gets old and always is fascinating.)
Excellent story masterfully presented!
Richard Jones never fails to amaze me... My hero and no.1 active Ripperologist 🎩 🔪
Love your videos! I just wish you would do more ghost stories, because those are the best!
I do rather like the suggestion that it was a secret society of murderers. Maybe not plausible but, nothing I'd ever considered before. It certainly opens up an entirely new gift box of possibilities.
Regardless, no one will ever know for sure who committed these murders and no future generation will ever stop speculating. It's always a good read.

A very thorough and entertaining video. Extremely well done. Thank you.
Very interesting 👍👍
Glad you think so!
Thank you for my coffee break video.
Sublimely intriguing and well researched, as usual!
Nice one
Thanks 🔥
What an excellent surprise. You spoil us Richard.
Maybe Worth Street? If a person who lived in New York hear a English or British person speak an address, there migt be a spelling discrepency.
Interesting & ponderings thereafter🤔
Easy to get away with it when you're surrounded by so many unwitting accessories, damn
Very interesting indeed, thank you!
Love all your posts, Mr. Jones -- thank you always!
I wonder why sometimes why George Hutchinson isn't taken seriously as a suspect. He seems conspicuous by his absence to me.
As if it's Taboo.
He’s the most viable, imo
Why should he be taken seriously?
@@kevinkenny6975 There is nothing really to suggest he was the killer, but most people think that his ability to recall such detail as he claimed to have taken notice of, is highly questionable.
Hutchinson and lechmere both didn't come forward right away. Hutchinson didn't need to because nobody knew about him
Thank you. Thiroughly enjoyed it!
Jack the ripper was Charles allen Lechmere. Caught red handed.
Lechmere was there with victim no 1 at tbe time she died and her clothes were pulled down to hide the torso wounds. Who else moved her clothes down to hide the mutilation. If it was before Lechmere got there he would not need to hide he would flee
Great stuff! Many thanks :)
Very well done ! Fascinating, and your narrative style is very relaxing and easy to listen to. Thank you ! Will subscribe 👍
Excellent Richard, will watch tonight 👍
Hope you enjoy
Nicely put together Richard ..I think you will find the ripper lived on Greenfield Rd
This is such an interesting film!
Amazing - thank you
Nonce means something very different today lol
Not Of Normal Criminal Element (Nonce)
It still retains its other meaning, although sparingly used.
The table did it.
IMO "Jack" was a police constable or atleast worked as one in the past. Having friends inside the department He knew first hand the P.C times and routes as well as internal discussions as to where to look ect. Scotland Yard im sure considered this, and perhaps top officials knew who he was and is why the killings abruptly stopped....
Oh really 😂
Can't really see the top officials giving a toss about a PC, if it was a lowly PC and they knew he'd have swung. I think he was a nobody that just happened to have a bit of luck and be killing in a time when police techniques were shall we say not too hot.
Interesting
