Last year I heard somewhere that the US wanted to set up a military base in India. They already had selected locations near Aksai Chin and Arunanchal Pradesh. But the Indian government didn't succumb to their pressure. Now after the Bangladesh issue I am quite certain that it did really happen and the US now has selected the location in St. Martin's Island in Bangladesh.
From the same source I got to know US wanted to create one more military base in the S. Korea. I am not sure why because they already have multiple bases in S. Korea and Japan.
I don't think it's true because I read somewhere that the alleged st. Martin island has a terrible geography and cannot support a military base. Though can't rule out the other side
