It should be mentioned, at least once per interview until it happens, how great a guest Rapha would be on Joe Rogan.

And we all know how Joe Rogan knows his video games: there's games that are Quake, and games that are not Quake.

This is a great thing for Quake when it happens. Alot of the jre audience will get excited and go play Quake.

    • @ddkesports

No doubt. I hope to have him on again soon. There's a lot of questions and topics we didn't touch that would be really interesting to talk about. It's amazing to have someone who has thought so much about these ideas and is as articulate as Rapha, and not to mention, is actively putting those ideas into practice.

Rapha is such a legend. I know that Quake isn't a very recognized game in the esports or gaming scene, but I think it's really worth recognizing the incredible stuff that he has done on a personal and professional level.

rapha the GOAT. he lost one of the most important persons in his life and in the following QPL season he didnt loose a fucking map. he is a champion of life, not only of quake. also is a great caster since his analysis skills are excellent and he is not boring while doing it. he is best paired with someone like fortylions. all the best!

He brings up a good point where esports players without a traditional sports background struggle being coached vs. the players with a traditional sports background.
I'm recently getting into Quake and Arena FPS, mainly because I'm kind of tired of the current popular FPS' and tactical FPS'. I grew up playing CS and I love CS, but I wish I also got into Arena FPS back in the day. So I'm trying to fill in that void.
I have a feeling Arena FPS will make a comeback and an ambassador like Rapha will help lead the way.

So glad to have an inside view into Rapha's preparation and mindset. Been watching him for many many years and always respected how smart he was as a player.
Edit: Would have been great to hear more about Rapha's many mentions of "presence". I feel like there's a lot there to delve into and what that means. The subtle shift that happens when moving back to a sense predominant or focused state of mind, and techniques to shift back to that place. Oh, and if he does make guides on picking the right mouse, I'd be on that like hot glue as a big mouse fan.
