It should be mentioned, at least once per interview until it happens, how great a guest Rapha would be on Joe Rogan.
FOR SURE. That would be incredible.
Oh hell yes
And we all know how Joe Rogan knows his video games: there's games that are Quake, and games that are not Quake.
This is a great thing for Quake when it happens. Alot of the jre audience will get excited and go play Quake.
Rapha is such an intelligent and interesting dude.
No doubt. I hope to have him on again soon. There's a lot of questions and topics we didn't touch that would be really interesting to talk about. It's amazing to have someone who has thought so much about these ideas and is as articulate as Rapha, and not to mention, is actively putting those ideas into practice.
@@ddkesports well said Daniel. I think you did an amazing job on this interview with very relevant talking points and thoughtful questions.
Agree, I believe you can apply a lot of his wise words to almost anything requiring a performance of some kind.
Rapha is a treasure of western esports
Rapha is such a legend. I know that Quake isn't a very recognized game in the esports or gaming scene, but I think it's really worth recognizing the incredible stuff that he has done on a personal and professional level.
ddk i wanna thank you for making this interview with rapha, very helpful for this community
It's my pleasure
rapha the GOAT. he lost one of the most important persons in his life and in the following QPL season he didnt loose a fucking map. he is a champion of life, not only of quake. also is a great caster since his analysis skills are excellent and he is not boring while doing it. he is best paired with someone like fortylions. all the best!
Oh, what happened?
@@madmccarter his wife/partner died last year.
"The biggest thing in FPS is being the one to impose your will". Rapha, true philosopher of our days.
What a sharp mind this guy has.
Rapha is a such an fps King 👑 interesting to listen to
rapha is amazing, I love his skills in game, and how he presents himself out of the game. A true legend in my opinion, I always cheer for him without fail.
Legit, the GOAT. Rapha is pretty cool too.
❤️❤️
hi i bought your first book
@@knotenbauer8953 what book?
@@climbandslackline487 The heroes fall
Rapha's podcasts are like music to my ears. Very good stuff, thanks for this
Legend
Great conversation. You're both very articulate and can always find an interesting, smart angle to approach a topic.
Thank you!
the GOAT
So glad to have an inside view into Rapha's preparation and mindset. Been watching him for many many years and always respected how smart he was as a player.
Edit: Would have been great to hear more about Rapha's many mentions of "presence". I feel like there's a lot there to delve into and what that means. The subtle shift that happens when moving back to a sense predominant or focused state of mind, and techniques to shift back to that place. Oh, and if he does make guides on picking the right mouse, I'd be on that like hot glue as a big mouse fan.
Damn Daniel back again with the Rapha interview
1:00:50 & 1:34:20 awesome advice
This gonna be good.
Awesome interview. It's awesome to see that Quake is still there in E-Sport after all this time.
incredible interview :) thank you both
What a great episode. I am on my 2nd listen through and still picking up on new details. Thank you
banger episode
this should get more recognition as i feel like this is not only applies in esports but also applies in real life
Diabotical didn't "die later on", its death was set in stone at the end of the first open beta, when 2GD decided to burn bridges with the sole innovator behind the curtains.
who?
Finally part 2 let’s go
Einstein of gaming
Gotta luv R A F F E R !!
zis is rapha
Nice podcast 🙂👍
i love u both
Im interested in coaching so these podcasts are extacly what I need
Pro tip: if you constantly comm you constantly breath.
Which mics did you use for this? Great podcast again 👍. Also liked the one with rjn.
Just a couple shure sm58s
He brings up a good point where esports players without a traditional sports background struggle being coached vs. the players with a traditional sports background.
I'm recently getting into Quake and Arena FPS, mainly because I'm kind of tired of the current popular FPS' and tactical FPS'. I grew up playing CS and I love CS, but I wish I also got into Arena FPS back in the day. So I'm trying to fill in that void.
I have a feeling Arena FPS will make a comeback and an ambassador like Rapha will help lead the way.
You should try and get Steel. He was really well spoken at Berlin and it would be great to pick his tactical mind
Yep! I've had steel on before and we've known each other for a long time. I would love to get him on again and I'm sure we will at some point.
GET GUT - Thats the all 1:53:09 :) Rapha you are BIG
Pog
Bring back quake live.
Can someone get the time stamp where raoha talks about item timing?
Best rapha memory: Getting flamed for beating him in a 2v2 tourney. Couldn't have done it without Dan.
And No1:
Rapha is on the edge after losing Quakecon2021 3-0 to Raisy and realizing he's gotta find the way out.
Now I see This.
Nice.
Rafer still is the awesome player tho.. but time goes by
QPL for the 2021 wasn't on LAN due to COVID. He didn't play well bc everyone had ping issues. I'm sure he'll be back with a vengeance.
@@warrenitsuks9580 I'm following QPL. Rapha dominated there all year, all finals except last one, so what's that ping issue are you talking about?
What's up with that haircut tho?
A true belieber.
I'm struggling to find a good barber 😁
The John Lennon experience
nice emo hair lolololo
