I remember when I first played Star Rush I went into it thinking that it would be rubbish because of it rejecting the standard gameplay seen in the usual Mario Party games, which was present in Mario Party DS. However when I had played the Balloon Bash mode, I was more hooked to that than I was to Toad Scramble. If that was the actual mode of the game and players took turns after rolling their dices as they’d move across the big boards, then I think that it could’ve gained a better reputation. As it stands, I think it works as a proof of concept that carried over well into Super Mario Party.
Also, The fact that they decided to go non-linear on this entry only, is actually really cool! If I ever pick it up, I may enjoy it for what it offers, which I really like!
This game is definitely underrated in the MP series. The Toad Scramble mode was a cool new take on the board gameplay, and if it had new boards as DLC, I probably would have paid for them. As for the ranking itself, my list would be similar, with my only major differences being Block Busters, which I actually enjoy because of the risk and reward of shooting the others' blocks to reach your own quicker, Piece of Cake, which I dislike because it drags on way too long for my liking with the timer and the transitions, and Piranha Planetmonium, which I'm mostly neutral on since it can either go pretty well or not so well depending on who gets the big golden plant.
I actually never grew up with Star Rush or The Top 100. Although it feels like I didn’t miss on much, Star Rush definitely feels the most interesting and original out of the 3DS entries, no doubt! It may have some issues, but regardless, it definitely holds up better than a few entries that exist, even 8 to an extent! As for the Minigame ranking, I don’t have any specific favourites, but, they certainly have a few interesting ideas as well, so that’s good! Overall, nice variety in how each one is played!
To me, Star Rush and Island Tour have always been opposites. Island Tour has a fantastic selection of minigames (one of the strongest in the series imo), but everything else about the game flounders and makes it one of the bottom Mario Party games. Meanwhile, Star Rush has amazing main game modes that makes it one of the best in the series, but a pretty mediocre minigame lineup. There are certainly good ones, but way more bad or at least "eh" minigames than usual. And even the great ones don't really stick in my mind too much as being standouts. Wish this game got the credit it deserves. It's one of my favorites in the series.
Dang, it looks our lists were more different compared to the others lol. That’s alright though, everyone has different opinions. Not surprised that Fruit or Foe and Blowboat Battle are at the bottom two, I never even liked those two minigames anyways. I think Fruit or Foe is visually really cute, but yeah, it’s just another bad and underwhelming luck-based crapshow. That’s especially coming from someone who loves and is a defender luck-based minigames. There are exceptions however, that I can’t just overlook or even defend those games because even I don’t like them. Great list overall Slim, can’t wait for The Top 100 Ranking, I’m going to predict that Pier Pressure will be at the bottom, and Dizzy Dancing is at the top spot. Maybe even Strawberry Shortfuse will be at the bottom. While I love Strawberry Shortfuse dearly, I can understand why many people don’t like it.

I see this game as the most potential as an appreciated formula of Mario Party. Maybe I’ll expand on it. Who knows?
