- In this video we break down why we like to use a Gimbal to film our hunts on our cell phone.
Maintain 4K, Zoom Smoothly, Active track subject with front and rear facing camera, pan smoothly in all directions, control setting similar to a DSLR, and all with one hand!
This setup is the lights and quickest setup we have seen!
I just purchased the DJI Osmo Mobile 6 to film turkey and whitetail hunts. I looked all over the web for videos like this. We tree stand hunt so I am currently looking for a light weight arm for gimbal. With the Active Track 6 of the OM6 I hope it is able to do a good job of tracking. I will find out during turkey season hopefully. Thank you for posting this and glad I found it.

How was the mobile 3 for you compared to the 5? I heard the battery life was twice as long on the 3 than the 5 and still has active track. What are the cons to the 3 that made you make the switch. Thanks!
bought this rig with some camo tape, still waiting on the OOAL cam arm but I used it with a simple trail cam screw in, worked great, although I didn't get a shooting opportunity but had some great footage. I did get it to work with a thin phone case which I camo tapped too. Thanks for the video can't wait to get my OOAL arm. one suggestion tape on the lights for late evening use. Battery life was great.
So, question. Would there be any benefit to using something like the genesis 3d sub one arm over the OOAL? I’m only thinking about the reach. In theory you wouldn’t have to twist the strap around the tree with a longer arm?

Do you have to use the DJI app? Could you film with the beast grip app and use it to zoom stil?
Any idea if the Mobile 6 would fit onto the Fourth Arrow Saddle Tree Arm?

So where does your bow hang in relation to the the gimbal set up if they're both going to be off the left side?
I hang it on the right side now.

@@tylersprks2 no. It’s a new way of doing things. Like saddle hunting in general. Dealing with a bridge and all that.
I like it. I think for a tree stand you would just toss it onto a bigger arm so it gets out in front of you like a camera. but it would be much better because you don't have to lug around a big camera and giant mic on top of it as well.

How much tilt range does it have? if you have a deer near the base of a tree can you tilt down far enough to pick it up?
You’d need to have it preset right on the waypoint. But yes. You can pick up directly below you for sure.

Not that I’m aware of at the moment.

Yes. He originally had the 3 and now has the 5.

I’d be worried about the gimbal in bad/cold weather. Did you get to try it nasty weather to see how it held up?
Not in any kind of crazy precipitation. But i took it in some pretty cold weather with snow on the ground and managed to get some really nice deer on camera.
Whats the ETA on the Waypoint? Not seeing it on his site.

Very well! Took a buck opening day on film on public land!
About how long will a charge on the device last? Give or take?
I wanna say it’s 4 hours in perfect conditions.
I’ve had it last and stay on for an entire evening hunt.

Would love to get more info about this, as I have been kicking the idea around about filming my hunts this year. But as stated, I am not going to do unless I can do it with my phone. I already have so much gear, as a public land hunter, I just don't want to have to pack even more just to be able to film. So I am quite excited about this information.

No sir. I like my mic for interviews and stuff. But for the hunting and all that. No way.
I would LOVE to see the footage of you or even a dog walking at like 20ish yards and see how the tracking does. Maybe like 4-5 trials of starting a dog on a spot and letting them meander to get an idea?
