I notice how the beginning of this video about Tim Burton’s,”CATWOMAN,”begins with the concept,the writing phase then ends with Michelle Pfeiffer’s reactions about the cancellation of the feature.
This is something they could make today and I think it would be a pretty big success. It would have to be made with Michelle Pfeiffer of course... also dark like Batman Returns
This was such a missed opportunity which still grinds my gears almost 30 years later. What Keaton brought to the cinematic incarnation of Batman, Michelle Pfeiffer matched tenfold with Catwoman. Leaving that theater in 1992, I had no doubt in my mind all three leads were born for those roles. I remember being so excited by that last shot in 'Returns;' knowing we'd get some continuation of that story, but never imagining the ridiculous level of fallout over frikkin Happy Meal tie-ins. Batman the Animated Series premiering that Fall sort of served as a loose sequel, but man, did Michelle Pfeiffer earn & DESERVE that Catwoman spinoff--especially when you consider what we got years later with Halle Berry 😬 (sidenote: I love Halle, but we all know that movie was beyond trash)
As a teen fanboy, I would've been giddy with both excitement and anticipation had Michelle Pfeiffer reprised her iconic role as the leather-clad antiheroine in a Burton-directed solo film back in the nineties! It would've been significantly better than the subsequent--and misbegotten--2004 theatrical release; as much as I adore and respect Halle Berry, Michelle will always be the DC Universe's resident bullwhip-toting cat burglar!
I can tell Booster Gold was going to be in this...He would be perfect as a egotistic superhero turned villain especially since the 90's weren't to concerned with the source material and I think it would have been great for this version
I feel like if you gave Michelle Pfeiffer version of Catwoman a film make it a heist movie! She’s in a new city, needs money to start over and she becomes a jewel thief like her comic counterpart. Make the running motivation of the film about doing one huge jewel heist. Then after she successfully does she becomes a renowned thief. She finds a new passion in her life Just an idea 🤷🏽♂️

And instead we got whatever they Hallie Berry movie was. Seriously a Tim Barton spin-off did not happen but that dumpster fire which won a razzie was made instead.

It sounds like an interesting concept, but deconstruction with CATWOMAN of all heroines, just feels out of place. My villain instead would've been Black Mask. My choice for him; the late great Maximilian Schell.
Both of those concepts sound like absolute garbage. Both Burton films are very good but oddly also happened to be written by writers who seem to despise the source material.
