This is my first time watching the 2010 final table -- this is absolutely incredible. That AQ vs 99 all-in was AMAZING!!! Man, I'm so glad PokerGo is replaying the older WSOP Main Events.
It was even more sick since that board could've had everything: Candio had the worst hand with two pair 8s and Qs. Senti had trip Queens Duhamel had a straight Three spades on the board at the end meant anyone who folded two spades in that hand would've had a flush as well.
@@geminijd1845 to me, the situations aren’t comparable. Duhamel called an all in knowing he had to catch, unless he thought Affleck was on a stone cold bluff. He had 10 outs at best, with only a river to come…making him a 3 1/2 to 1 underdog. Grinder called after ruling out aces, kings and ace-king being Jarvis’ cards. While the percentages showed 56-44, that was with the knowledge that 2 diamonds, Duhamel’s 2 straight card blockers and one queen was in the muck. A-Q suited versus a mid pair is a virtual coin flip pre flop. Duhamel’s play vs. Affleck is far worse.
Not so much ESPN but rather 441 Productions. They had a cinematic style that - as you mention - is peerless. I'm not sure if it was the preference of Matt Maranz specifically, but 441 liked grabbing those tight shots, getting reactions, glances, etc. It made everything very personal, which was in line with the narrative of showing personalities. PokerPROductions took over the coverage of the Main the following year and the look and vibe is different. Mori Eskandani has a poker background (compared to Maranz, a journalist). His aim was to focus on the poker, not the people. The upside is that we now get more information: effective stacks, blinds, and a smooth transition to real-time coverage. The downside is that it's not as personality driven.
This is the height of when WSOP was phenomenal….the production, the commentating, the hands dealt and some of the greatest runouts I’ve seen. Wish ESPN would bring this back
They’d have to go back to the November 9 to make it work.. I liked when they ran it like the normal production, then ran the final table live, and even edited it a day later
@@chongli3007 same with NBA. I heard Doris Burke call play by play for Damian Lillard’s buzzer beater last night and it was terrible. Made the whole thing less exciting.
Seriously! I forgot about some of these hands, mostly because the most memorable hand of all of them was Cheong's insane preflop bluff against Duhamel.
That hand between Mizrachi and Jarvis actually hit incredibly hard for every hand shown: Candio would’ve had the worst hand with two pair with 8s and Qs. Senti would’ve had trip Queens. Duhamel would’ve had a straight. Jarvis with 9s full of Queens. Mizrachi with Queens full of Aces (win). Grinder actually had 5 outs to KO Jarvis too as Candio and Senti folded an 8 and the last Queen as well. Insane hand.
Cheong's blowup was so epic considering how short Racener was when 3 handed play began. Why he played back to back huge pots against duhamel with nothing and a weak, unsuited ace is quite incomprehensible!
I love Norm's comment at the end about how all of Canada can celebrate. It also made me laugh because he said Nova Scotia so maybe noone told him yet about Newfoundland joining the country back in 1949 ^^ XD
32:30 Ideally the same board and cards in hand from players that Ivey and Moneymaker had in 2003. Betting action was a bit different but crazy how that came to be.
1:34:21 dude does a terrible job of engraving Johnathans names but his he leaves looking much better and more important With diamond studs next to the name, that’s how Johnathans name should have been presented in the back not yours! Steve soffa lol
I completely forgot the grinder made a main event final table…this was around the time grinder was killing it everywhere especially the WPT taking down titles. Wonder where bro had been lately
As others have commented that Grinder vs Jarvis hand was nuts and I'm not sure Grinder even should've called Jarvis' pre flop shove to begin with. A fold with AQs in that spot would've been totally understandable.
@@Sam-db4mr, If you didn't notice, I wrote the time where he appeared (20:40), meaning at 20:40 of the video, talking to Phil Galfond. I hope you can find now.
Like these people have hoodies sunglasses and you’re supposed to be a professional poker player. That means keeping a poker face that means not hiding your face. This is not an online thing.
its really the only best final of main event !!! My favorite is Cheong !! BUT I Dont UNDERSTAND wy he spoils his tournament with As/7 vs Duhamel ! rase/re-rase, Duhamel its the serious player not bluffer !! Cheong do to fold !!! with doesn’t matter, he still has 77 millions chips !!!!!!!! 🤦🏼♂️😞
Dolan sucks, cant fold JJs pre flop with 2 raises in front of him, one was the short stack, then rivers a set of JJs, a 1 card straight and flush on board, called 8.5 million
0:35 when among the players, there can't be seen mr. Daniel Negranu, mr. Phil Ivey or mr. pguil Helmuth, watching poker on TH-cam, is much less interesting!
Bothers me so much like people go out of their way because they want to see how well you play not to see how you shove clothing over your eyes. Seriously. Are you professional or not?
Poker went so hard back then wow this production value is insane.
Hopefully we get something like this back with gg in charge
I was only 11 years old when I watched this back in 2010, wow this brings back memories. Hands down my favorite WSOP final table I’ve ever watched
This is my first time watching the 2010 final table -- this is absolutely incredible. That AQ vs 99 all-in was AMAZING!!! Man, I'm so glad PokerGo is replaying the older WSOP Main Events.
Dunno why Jarvis wasted it with 9s
The Mizrachi-Jarvis hand was one for the books. I could have never stayed as composed as Jarvis when that river hit.
It was even more sick since that board could've had everything:
Candio had the worst hand with two pair 8s and Qs.
Senti had trip Queens
Duhamel had a straight
Three spades on the board at the end meant anyone who folded two spades in that hand would've had a flush as well.
funny how everyone gets on Duhamel's case for the play against Affleck yet just ignores Grinder calling an all in with AQ and getting paid off.
@@geminijd1845 to me, the situations aren’t comparable. Duhamel called an all in knowing he had to catch, unless he thought Affleck was on a stone cold bluff. He had 10 outs at best, with only a river to come…making him a 3 1/2 to 1 underdog.

its an exact replica of moneymaker vs phil ivey in 2003
The production value ESPN put into this series is unmatched
Agreed. 👍👍
mbut itM was kinda weird to watch only highlights , Duhammel won a 50M pot and the next thing he has70

They really need to bring the WSOP back to ESPN w\ Lon and Norm. There’s nothing better.
They’d have to go back to the November 9 to make it work.. I liked when they ran it like the normal production, then ran the final table live, and even edited it a day later

Heck yeah!!
Matt Jarvis dad passed away in 2022. Rest In peace Mr Jarvis.
Probably because he played 99 wrong🤷🏽♂️
To make it 12 more years with that diagnosis is a blessing in itself.
Wow. He got 12 more years with him! ❤
Oh man. Respects.
He was diagnosed with cancer in April 2010. Stage 4 throat cancer to be exact iirc. So 12 years is incredible.
So many sick runouts at this final table!

How to punt away a world championship, by Joseph Cheong
No idea what he was thinking lol
This is the most roller coaster final table for me. I miss this kind of production and I hope next next ones steps up
I love the pageantry and the drama. Excellent presentation.
Enjoy the players but the fans are amazing. What a fun experience this must have been.
How to punt, by Cheong
One of the most entertaining FTs in history
what a punt by Cheong... 6 bets all in with A7 off
Racener seemed to be playing for second place and Duhamel and Cheong for first. I suppose both Duhamel and Racener more or less got what they wanted.
Should’ve been eliminated at 1:03:50
I agree but the $ difference is worth it. This reminds me of the maniac last year that finished third
What a punt at the end by Cheong. 🤦♂️
Prob one of my fav WSOP Main Event years and takes me back to the Poker Road podcast days too
Dudes, been waiting for this all day lol
That AQ vs 99's so eerily similar to Chris Moneymaker vs Iveys 2003 WSOP right to the river!
The first thing i thought
glitch in the matrix

Cheong playing perfectly
Until he literally punted his tourney in 2 hands
Candio’s antics annoy the everloving snot out of me
seems like an absolute tossbag
It’s mind blowing how irritating one can be
"You cannot control luck - think about what you can control." J. Duhamel
Crazy final table. Can’t believe Grinder shoved with A8 :/
Pocket 3 also. Played too aggressive I always thought
2010 was a different era in poker. GTO hadn't come around just yet.
Will you release also the videos of the 2 big one for one drop ??? (2012 and 2014)

Better when there were less GTO robots.
Waiting for 2011 day one! Watched every episode since moneymaker won it. Amazing Espn production
How many times did Racener get dealt AK in this tournament?
craziest FT ever!
These commentators are really amazing! 👏🏼👆🏼
Garret at 56:20 lol, funny seeing him and David Peters and all these other "nobodys" in these shoots.

How does the WSOP allow something like that? Completely disgraceful. I hope they have found a new “master artisan” since then.

continue this series plzz 2011 2012

What happened to mizraki?

best final table of all time
Racener's path to heads up was exactly how I would have done it, superstitions and all lol
Why havent you released 2011?
You see PokerGO! That was what i call WSOP main event coverage. 🙂
Top Filippo candio ❤ baciami ancora 💣💣
Surely Racener had 4 months of people telling him to stop chewing like a horse. Why continue?
I mean he came in second place. He can chew as much gum as he wants lol
Also he came in 53rd place in the 2023 main event!
Duhamel vs Choeng 176,000,000 pot... Imagine waiting for the river card if you are Duhamel, an ace is worth $5,000,000+ real life equity.
norm said you wait four months to play or just for months?
i wish poker was still like this. I hate the GTO solver era of poker so much
no 2011?
Where is Day one of the 2011 Main Event??
No 2011 yet 😢
I can't believe the winner showed up wearing shorts n flipflops.

these guys look like Nascar drivers with all their patches
the Grinder just bombed off his stack no reason... Joe same, lol
Matusow was really there just tryna getva piece of Grinder's winnings
Candio is so annoying to watch, he doesnt belong at a poker table. He's all over the place it's so disrespectful.
The whole tournament - and people talk about Americas being jackass' - this guy went for the title!!!

That is a lot of suck outs that I could have ever imagined!
1:34:21 poker never fails in showing the public its really low class. His name is unreadable.
PokerGO should look into hiring Andres Cantor for their WSOP live streams in the future.
Dolan sucks, cant fold JJs pre flop with 2 raises in front of him, one was the short stack, then rivers a set of JJs, a 1 card straight and flush on board, called 8.5 million

I know I checked a few times wondering if I missed it or something.
I bet cheong those 2 hands back. Brutal stuff
Such a bad call with A9 off you have to think he has a pair in that spot so sick but bad call
