Sodium battery:
Charging time - 15 minutes
Range - 100 km or more...
The problem with the sodium battery technology the charge/discharge curve is too steep. Looks much more like a supercapacitor curve. Not only that, but the fully charged and fully discharged voltages are well outside what current inverter designs can utilize. Losing 20% to 40% of the battery capacity as unusable from the outset.

It doesn't matter. The elecric car industry will die after the cost, confusion and difficulty overwhelms enough people and even politicians.
But I don't think sodium is really going to be about car. More powerwalls and grid storage.
