Same as all the London airports apart from City. None of them are in London. Even Heathrow takes almost an hour on the tube to go anywhere useful. Southend is a 45 minute train journey in to the City of London. Exactly the same as Stansted and Gatwick.
@@norwayspotter26 Only City is in London. Luton, Gatwick, Stansted, Heathrow and Southend are all outside London. People need to get this fact in their heads!
Rest in peace flybe... Flown them many times to see my boyfriend in Amsterdam, although got a little annoyed when they stopped serving DSA my local airport.
brad duffy, 1.There is The E195 E2. 2.A lot E195's were delivered just in the last 3 to 5 years so i bet that in 10 years you'll still be able to spot them at the airport, kinda like the A340 and B757,B767 now days. 3.Its a lovely aircraft indeed,I had the pleasure of flying the E195 with Arkia on the Tel-Aviv to Eilat domestic rout.
I was very amazed to see that while you were boarding, every seat actually alligned to a window. No seat which blocks half a window or so. Don't see that in Economy on bigger planes from Airbus or Boeing very often! :D (I know it's not their fault, but the fault of the airlines who try to squeeze more seats into the plane for higher profit)
I also love how they still list all the Scottish islands as destinations... even though Loganair is ending their franchise agreement with Flybe shortly :-) and they operate all the island hopper flights
Thank you for this video. I am now 40yo, I have never had the money to fly anywhere. However, on Monday I start a new job as part of the cleaning teams cleaning the inside of FlyBE's Embraers. I wanted to know what the interiors looked like. Hopefully I will be able to fly with them one day.
A fun hop my friends ! How were those Ramen Noodles ? I don't think I have ever seen a London airport where you land and taxi back down the runway to the terminal, WOW --- I wonder when they will build up Southend airport.
Nice report about another carrier I've never heard of, and an airport I didn't know existed! You guys rock in expanding horizons on so may levels. Thanks, Felix!
Embraer 195 ER..heh heh, not too long until they enter the B737 size market, and well deserved if they do because their planes are excellent. Fly Be looks really good as an LCC, but some of their catering looks reasonable price, others look crazy expensive for that it is.
Yes I work in Brno CZ but my nearest airport is Vienna and I love this service as I commute to the UK regularly. However, I must say that British Rail must get their act together - Why isn't there an express service into London, I do not want to stop at every station taking over an hour!
Another great video! Will you be doing a video departing Southend? Looks like a very interesting airport. Wouldn't mind seeing your opinion of it as a departing port. Cheers Keep the good work guys!
Chose to watch this being a big fan of the E-jet family. Living in Plymouth with Exeter airport not too far away I do have the option to fly from EXT with Flybe but two things I've noticed in the past with Flybe...... 1) Very few of their 'hot' locations are actually available from EXT. Need to go further north to depart from other airports. 2) Flybe have a pretty hefty cap on their hand luggage weight. 9 times out of 10 if I'm flying to European locations I'll go from Bristol with Easyjet (occasionally from LGW) Like this channel, have subscribed ☺️👍🏼✈️
Really good tripreport as always, what really differentiates you from the other tripreport channels is that you focus on what's really important to the viewer and you don't put annoying background music, which is very important to me at least since the only music I want to listen in a tripreport is the sound of jet engine! Buuuut this time you forgot something very important, you forgot to describe if the ramen was tasty or not! D:
Hahaha, alriiiiiight! So, the ramen was: very tasty but a bit too spicey for my taste...^^ All in all I think it was good and I'd order it again! And thank you! :D Our goal is to show the flight as it really is, that you experience the sound we have experienced and that after you watched the video that you feel like you've been on the flight yourself! :D
Hahaha great to know that, but I guess it's not nearly as good as Yatekomo huh? Anyways, keep up with the good work and can't wait for Friday's video! :D
A cool trip report to do would be Jet2's 737-300s they are some of the oldest aircraft in service around Europe. I believe their oldest one G-CELX is almost 31 years old. It would be definitely different :D Anywho, this was a great video!
BWI Aviation I think because it provides an easier and quicker boarding and deboarding process due to the extra number of doors. Also it will be helpful when the bus is parked straight or sideways.
In Brazil we have a lot of these planes from the company Azul, I like this company very much because we also have tv to watch during the flight. Even in a 30 minutes flight we have a great experience in this particular plane
Have you ever flown with aer lingus? I know you have a video on the a330 but i mean the a320 low-cost model. Its a really good experience. And in my opinion way better than Ryanair
I Love Airborne videos... btw after watching lots of your trip report... which one do you think is the best lowcost but impressive airlines to fly with? :D
I can recommend a flight from Düsseldorf to Dubai with Emirates. Every flight from there to Dubai wil be operated with the beautiful A380. As well I recommend a flight from Düsseldorf to the absolute lovely island Sylt operated by Air Berlin`s Dash 8.
No. All inflight catering is very VERY expensive compared to on the ground prices. 300ml of coke is 30ml short of a full can which in the UK is around 80p (500ml bottle is around £1.20). Other "On the ground" prices, a KitKat chocolate bar is around 70p, Minstrels £2.50. Highland Spring Water 60p. The wine you're talking £19 in the air price for a full bottle (75cl) which is 4 of the bottles flybe sell in the air. On the ground, it's around £7/8. I can also get 4 big cans of Magners (440ml) for the price of 1 small can that they sell on Flybe.
2021 UPDATE: FlyBe has ceased operations and the plane seen in this video is no longer in operation with the airline.
RIP FlyBe, I really liked this airline, especially their Q400s. Nice tripreport btw!
New 2021 update - Flybe will be resuming operations in Spring 2022 with a fleet of Q400s.
This aircraft was due to leave Flybe anyway and all E195s return to lessors a month before the airline entered administration.
Rip flybe:( we wil miss you #teamflybe
Update: Flybe has returned with a small fleet of q400s in their salmon livery! I have a video on my channel of their return to Southampton airport
That accelerated ascending and descending is most beautiful part for me...:-)
The thing with London Southend is that London Southend is nowhere near London. They are more than 1 hour apart by car.
Dylan Murphy Hm, maybe its London southEND? The END of London??
Ik I live in Southend and it is a great little town I spot at sen

Embraer 195 is such a BEAUTIFUL plane :))
by 2020 apparently flybe are getting rid of them unfortunately.

yes
Love the embrear 195 it is my favorite short haul plane
The MC Airplane and the airlines choose it a lot because of its technology and low maintenance cost.
Nice report Felix. Flybe is on of my favourite airlines. Big schedule at Glasgow.
Fly to Guernsey on aurigny from somewhere in England you can get some really cheap flight 29.99 to Guernsey from Gatwick and it's a lovely place
Ciaran Barrow from East Midlands Airport u can
@FlameXXD ye I've done that flight in the ATR 72
Ciaran Barrow it's my local airport too, but I use Ryanair instead of Flybe
FlameXXD because Ryanair is the best company ever
Ciaran Barrow Agreed

That moment when a temporary terminal is better than every single airport terminal in your country
Where are you from bro
ahhh Southend airport! I live right near it :) directly underneath the easy jet plane flight paths lol. so weird how it's not really close to London
I loved there legroom! It’s was very spacious considering
I also love how they still list all the Scottish islands as destinations... even though Loganair is ending their franchise agreement with Flybe shortly :-) and they operate all the island hopper flights
I actually like Flybe, I think it's one of the better low cost airlines out there:) great report!
I've flown with flybe from Manchester - Milan Malpensa and I loved it and I am flying with them again
Want to see a simply aviation video forever!!!!
love how the APU was started just as you boarded :-)
lol me too
Me too dudes!
Daniel Nimmo waiting for the VIP :)
Daniel Nimmo yeah same

Nice aircraft good video thanks only problem with southend airport is its in south east Essex. Now for a 1 hour train ride costing about £17
As expected this video was amazing!! I was exited about this video and it met my expectations it was amazing!
Thank you for this video.

So hyped to see this is finally found a decent review cheers you two!
I absolutely love Flybe! Great airline!
That's right: London....sort of ;)
I deffinitly remember coming to vienna :) Brings back memories
the prices are crazy high! £2.50 for a muffin, 4 for a £1 in tesco
The muffin is weight, they need to charge a bit more for it.
I agree mate, but it's supply and demand, there is a limited supply off muffins up there, and no Tesco, this means that they can charge what they like
A fun hop my friends ! How were those Ramen Noodles ? I don't think I have ever seen a London airport where you land and taxi back down the runway to the terminal, WOW --- I wonder when they will build up Southend airport.

They actually wanted to get rid of their E195's until they opened a base at Cardiff to use them and Stobart air wanted to use then on these routes!
Another amazing Tripreport, thanks for keeping up the amazing quality of your reports 😉 please continue to make these videos🎉😌
There is the APU who starts at 5:10 ;D
Yes I work in Brno CZ but my nearest airport is Vienna and I love this service as I commute to the UK regularly. However, I must say that British Rail must get their act together

Is London southend airport is regional or domestical?
Flight time? Oh and the embraer his engines look rusty is it an old one?
Would you recommend London Southend as I know it is a bit out the way of London and it is a tiny airport? Is it any good?
Dude this video is incredible! Awesome Felix :)
Barra airport is a beach literally!
Hey David and Felix and Simon have you ever been in a emergency exit on a fligt
Yes, very often!

"temporary little plastic terminal called 1A" yet still nicer than most Airport terminals in the US. Smh

I love your videos looking forward to you coming to my home town Brisbane
London Southend is my local airport! 😀 Welcome!
13:41 is that concorde?
electricredo, from my perspective nothing there
look closer
it looks like a fighter jet
It's not a concorde
huh. its not like i was making a joke to what it looks like
Those prices are pretty expensive, those Share bags of sweets only cost £1 in British supermarkets.
"London" Southend is like getting a ticket to Vienna and ending up in St. Pölten or Bratislava!
Amazing trip Report! I’m flying the same airline next week!
