Hi Shawn! Thanks so much for the kind words. I have that Dream Academy album. I like the song Love Parade as well. I have a Suzanne Vega collection on CD. This is probably the first time I’ve seen her in the vinyl community for some reason. If I remember correctly The Hooters opened the Philadelphia Live Aid concert that same year. Simple Minds were one of my favorite bands at the time, and I saw the Sparkle In The Rain Tour a year or so prior to that Once Upon A Time release. One of my earliest concert memories. ✌️
Thank you Mike! Yes I forgot about the Hooters being a band in Live Aid. Agree that Suzanne Vega needs more love in the VC. Thanks for the thread and commenting!
Great showing, Shawn! You never have to apologize about REM to me. I'm also happy to see Suzanne Vega getting some love. Empire Burlesque is truly underrated. As always, interesting choices and a great video.
Thank you Mark! I am going to listen to Empire Burlesque today. I think Suzanne is definitely deserving of more exposure in the VC. Thanks as always for watching and commenting!
i picked up that dream academy on CD within last year. only knew the singles. i dunno. just hasnt clicked with me. nervous night is pretty solid throughout. once upon a time is one of my favorite albums of all-time. i get the older fans werent crazy bout it. but i loved it then and still love it now. agree the title track is awesome.
Thank you Steve! Understood on the dream academy. I connect with most of the songs but definitely not all. Once upon a time I think is maybe my favorite but New Gold Dream and Sparkle in the rain are great also.
Hey Shawn! I just got the Dream Academy box set a couple weeks ago, I had the ST album forever, but was surprised how good the next 2 are. Hooters - very underrated (the music that is). I became a big Simple Minds fan in 2005 when they released 'Black & White 050505.' Thanks for the shout out, and yes, 'Empire Burlesque' deserves a better fate. Cheers!
Thank you Steve! I just watched your spins for the week and saw the dream academy cd you played. That box set is one I have had my eye on. I just checked it out on Amazon and learned that David Gilmour co-produced two of their three albums. The rarities on that box set makes it worth the cost.
Thank you Brian! I like quite a few albums from Dylan in the 80’s. Infidels maybe the best during the decade. I loved your Italy videos, very well done!
Hi Shawn!!! Super Songs Awesome sounds !!! Great collections!!!!
Thank you! Appreciate you watching and commenting.

@@vinylshawn4757 Thanks Shawn! That bit of Gilmour trivia was new to me too. Yes, I would say the DA box set is worth the price. Cheers!
Simple Minds and REM are favs of mine. 'Empire Burlesque' is better than most people think.

Simple Minds will be touring the states again soon!
Thank you Smitty! I have an eye out on their website. So far I only see European tour stops.
