This is assuming that the other employee is not completely self-interested (narcissistic). You can ask for help, compliment or be kind to a fellow employee but when they are extremely self-interested there is nothing you can do to change their behavior. Contact will simply make their manipulations more effective.

Thank you for taking the time to produce this video. If I may, Im going to share advice based on my own experience pertaining to the subject at hand as well as some constructive criticism for you. You are obviously intelligent as much as you are kind (constructive criticism). When giving advice, always take consideration that kindness is not always the answer. Otherwise, you influence people to except bad behavior and doubt themselves instead of demanding respect (advice).

Marcus Aurelius has some good advice on dealing with difficult people.
He writes in his journal that there are all kinds of difficult people out there and when we encounter them it’s an opportunity for kindness and good.

I'm so glad you brought this up! So much insightful knowledge and wisdom from The Stoics. I'm a big fan of MA's teachings as well. Thanks so much for sharing :)

This is true. I didn't know what it is called but I noticed that difficult people thored at work when one asked them for assistance on something. This is counterintuitive but yeah, this is true.
