    Love the videos. I'm to old and broken up (52 been a martial artist since 7) to do much judo these days, but still love to watch your videos.

    I do this move in bjj all the time, as a lanky guy it is relative easy to thread my foot in behind that far arm. I have heard it called the 'scarecrow.' It is also very useful as a triangle choke setup.

    Very fascinating competition. How many different types of judo competitions do the Japanese have? Cool to have these competitions or "training programs" to practice more adapted techniques as well, or the other parts of judo. I suspect you really can't focus much on these without very big judo population in the country unfortunately.

    Michelle Niccolini won a BJJ world championship with something very much like this about 10 years ago, breaking Tammi Musumeci’s arm. There’s a photo of the crowd seeing it happen and almost everyone is horrified.

      She taught us that back in May. Such a nasty move!

      @@MiniNinjasJiuJitsu I was at a seminar of hers about a month after that match and she showed everyone. Definitely a brutal submission. All the lower belts were intimidated to even try it, ha ha.

    This is required when testing for Kodokan shodan. How many blackbelts did you have to spar too pass? Who says don't target the elbow versus the arm lock?

    • @Chadi
      @Chadi  หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      For Shodan I fought three guys back to back. Nidan and up I think it’s 5.

    Wow. You don't see a lot of leg nelsons. Great example!
    Is there a name for it from sambo or Judo?

    Is this still illegal at 6:02 if he was to grab the left side collar instead?

      This technique is legal.It is te gatame. Look this video and action at 0:33 th-cam.com/video/AQYtEBqct5o/w-d-xo.html . Kim Ji Su firstly separate opponent's left arm and own left hand grabs own left collar and after turnover she has good pressure on the opponent elbow and then she increase pressure her right hand only and the opponent cannot withstand the pressure and prefers tap out. That's a pitty that we can't see this action from opposite angle.

    You have to win by Ippon for Batsugun. My first Tournament in 1996, I beat the first 3 with Armlock, the last I had Waze-ari from a sloppy Harai Goshi where I won when time expired but it wasn’t Ippon so I had to go back in line. I was White then. I won’t 6 matches and lost 1, the match I lost was to a 330 pound marine corps wrestler black belt.
