Yeah it’s all based on the popularity of the sport, and lax is one of the fastest growing sports rn. Being from SoCal, it’s popularity is growing like crazy down here, so I wouldn’t be surprised if players are making 6 or 7 figures a season in the future.
I think the beauty of this game is that people play it truly for the love of it. It’s not like the other sports where dads push kids into it because they’re going to make millions. This is truly one of the only sports that people play because they love it
I think pro players have to love what they do or they wouldn’t have been able to go pro in the first place. The drive and dedication it takes to go pro can only come from passion for what you do.

With the way baseball's popularity is shrinking and lacrosse is growing, it wouldn't surprise me if either the NLL or PLL overtook the MLB for a position in the Big 4 within my lifetime (I'm currently 20 years old, for reference)
Like most women’s sports the WNBA is subsidized by the NBA. Meaning the NBA loses money every year because the WNBA doesn’t make any. Pro lacrosse is a man’s sport therefore there is no other men’s league that generates enough revenue to subsidize the PLL.
A bit underpaid, I'd say a low 6 figures is suitable for a professional athlete. We pay way too much money to watch professional athletes play sports. Lacrosse is growing quite rapidly it seems so I imagine those numbers will jump up in a decade. Maybe?

Many of them are graduate assistant coaches for college teams so they can use the team’s athletic facilities.
PLL players also own a part of the league plus sponsors and everything they make a lot of money
