It is a funny cartoon,in fact,a lot of cartoons are funny.Magilla Gorilla is awesome,I also like the Jackson 5,Wacky Races,Penelope Pitstop Dastardly and Muttley in their Flying Machines ,Tom and Jerry,Mighty Mouse,Heckle and Jeckle,etc.
Of all the Magilla Gorilla segments, this was easily the best. Watched the show on WPIX-11 in the late 70s and always hoped this episode would air ever day.

Saw this episode in the early 70's. Never knew that Little Eva was the singer. At that time we didn't have access to all the great music we do now, just had to wait and hope you would see it again. Just the way it was back then!!!!😊

I saw this waaaaaay back in the sixties . And I did not know that Allan Melvin was the voice of Magilla. Ain't that a kick! Nor did I know that it was the wonderful Little Eva singing that song. What a treasured childhood moment this is for me.

In 1982 A friend was going through records he had from 1964, and he played what we thought would be "Opportunity" by The Jewels. It turned out to be "Making With The Magilla". I screamed out, "wow, I never thought I'd hear this again!!" and "It's not "Opportunity", that's for sure. My buddy had a way of looking up who sang particular tunes, so we looked up "Making With The Magilla", and it turned out to be Little Eva! Upon reflection I'm not surprised, as it certainly sounds like her! I would love this song even if it wasn't connected to the cartoon. Amazing, unexpected chord changes, cool guitar licks, and her voice!

I was an army brat living in Germany and they were soo behind on cartoons. I watched a lot of cartoonstv shows from the 70s…I was born in the 80s! This was definitely one of my favorites along with Limpy the lion and touché turtle 💕

The last time i saw this video on Cartoon Network, it was back in 1996. I was 6 years old in elementary school when i first watched it. I even watched it at my dad's house at least a few times.

Love this song. I had a 2 reel tape recorder in the 60s and I recorded this song when the show came on. I still have the song but they dont make little 2 reeler recorders any more. Was so happy to hear this. Little Eva sang it great.

I was an army brat living in Germany and they were soo behind on cartoons. I watched a lot of cartoonstv shows from the 70s…I was born in the 80s! This was definitely one of my favorites along with Limpy the lion and touché turtle 💕

Who remembers when Cartoon Network released a CD of Rock bands playing old cartoon songs? Did anyone redo this one, cuz they should've! This is such an iconic song to all of us who grew up on Hanna-Barbera cartoons.

Sad to say, Dick Dale passed away very recently. Whether he actually played on this song, I don't know, but it surely sounds like him.🙂. I imagine that someone in Heaven is asking, "Hey, Eva, Dick... play that Magilla song for us again!".😇
