My martial art teacher also stood on my legs while I was doing split and it was not possible for me. Though I could get closer after I exercised by myself. Sudden pushes never work, unless that person is already flexible

I mean, she's literally right. Women have naturally more flexible hips than men as some hip flexibility is required to give birth. So it's definitely harder for a man to do the splits than it is for a woman (on average).

Sitting on someone in their splits can lead to an inability later in life to do the splits since the original flexibility was gained by injury
Unless it's kept up on. Continuous training through out your life can allow for the flexibility to stay. And yes that mean to still to this traing.
