Thanks for the videos, I’m in the same process of getting my 2.25 to start
Thanks for posting. Hope you get it sorted.🤞
thanks , me too lol
Line up the timing mark and then check rotor position of distributor that it on the 1st cylinder lead
Have you checked the timing?? Just a thought. Full marks for effort though!! All the best.
I notice you have a military grill for vehicles with an oil cooler, ie bonnet release is via catches on the wings as opposed to through the hole in the grill. It doesn’t look like you have an oil cooler, I do and I am looking for one of those grills. I have an original one freshly galvanised with the hole for the standard bonnet release. Wondering if you might be interested in a swap? Let me know if so and I will send you a couple of photos. Marc
Is the toilet roll between the seats for when you come to test the brakes? (speaking as a Series 2a owner!) 😂
Is the distributor definitely seated correctly and engaged? I had a similar issue on my Series 2A - it turned out I had the wrong distributor base plate for my engine - there's a taller one and shorter one, so even though the distributor was bolted down, it wasn't actually engaging the drive gear below, and the engine wouldn't fire.
Keep at it buddy, I think that was a replacement Distrubuter ? checks its not 180 degrees out and as your doing be methodical
Have you checked the lead between the coil and the distributor, or even a different coil?
Is the timing right? Try rotating the distributor slightly to see if the spark is happening at the right time
static timing seems spot on, i'm getting a spark as it hit's tdc on the compression stroke!
Plugs didn't look wet maybe worth checking carb hasn't got a blocked jet
Have you checked compression? I’d say timing is out
i've ordered a compression tester kit, as thats next thing to check!
@@TheRetroSeries2a if its low on completion just chuck a little engine oil down the cylinders it brings the commpretion back up and if it dose start the heat ushany frees of the piston rings and brings the commpretion back
@@mechanicalmoron2251 i'll give it a go! cheers
The fuel can needs to be higher up
Did you get it running?
not yet, will start working on it again once weather improves. ive done a compression test and it's not good!\
think I might just bite bullet and buy a new C head!
It looks like you connected the spark plug wires incorrectly
nope, 1342 firing order, rotar arm pointing to number one lead at 3Deg TDC👍
