I mean they didn't do to bad with those 8 hilos. They worked with what they've got. America pours money into their military and still didn't get very far. Infact, from the documentaries I've watched, the British seemed to gain the ground, then the Americans held it with patrols. this was an amazing documentary. I really felt like I met these men and got to know them and felt awful that they did not have the support and backing of the government back home to keep the integrity of the town they had secured. really ominous knowing we've just done the same thing on a larger scale of the whole of Afghanistan leaving the locals to defend their homes and towns and livelihoods by themselves with no government to back them. what an awful feeling to know their own government has run away, and all the international support that was keeping the Taliban away has now gone and left them high and dry.

My older brother fought alongside British troops. He has never been a guy to talk much, but he only had good things to say about them. Thanks from the USA for being such a good friend.
Unarmored so that they can maneuver quickly. The style of war rn is fast and mobile so armor was removed so they could move faster and maneuver quickly in convoys. Have you seen the Marine Humvees? Some don't even have doors
Armour wasn't removed, that's how the vehicles were anyway. Ex-British army myself btw. Theres a reason we moved to heavier vehicles than land rovers.

I'll be honest. I always appreciated them fighting with us but being sent into combat with 8 Hilos is sad. Like being sent to a gun duel with a leatherman.
more like a butterknife or a spoon
I mean they didn't do to bad with those 8 hilos. They worked with what they've got. America pours money into their military and still didn't get very far. Infact, from the documentaries I've watched, the British seemed to gain the ground, then the Americans held it with patrols.
