      Thing about it is this he's having a garage sale he's wanting Ebay prices but without the hassle of dealing with Ebay. It's OK it's your merchandise you can ask whatever you want for it. But they see asking prices on Ebay and get it in their head stuff is actually selling at these prices and they don't take into account shipping and then the other percentages that you pay Ebay and PayPal and boxes padding your listing time ect. A good 25% is eaten up and more of you think about the taxes on your income you have to pay. So I can see both sides of that coin.

    Matt, I gotta ask...was that guy's stuff listed as a "yard sale" or a "look at all this stuff I own and intend to keep"?? Lol.
    I see a lot of the comments are 50/50 on this one. Yes, I would personally be offended if someone listed their USED items at retail/more than retail prices. If people are valuing their items that high, they're not ready to sell them. Which is fine, because they can always list it themselves on eBay for top dollar and wait. No harm, no foul. But advertising a garage sale where people take their time and gas to come to only to find everything there (which wasn't even much) is considerably overpriced...yes, that's insulting.

    • @TheWeightsOver
      @TheWeightsOver 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Point being, if someone wants to list the absolute top dollar on something, they should list that first in their advertising before having people physically show up. Or at least advertise that most items there are "top price/valuable" items. It's a common courtesy typical of what the average person considers a "yard sale". Just my worthless 2 cents.

    What I’ve found is most of the time when someone has a large number of a certain type of collectibles (sports related collectibles in this case) they will have a harder time getting rid of all of them if they price them at retail or close to it. Someone may grab a few but the rest will take a while to get them all gone at a yard sale. I think resellers really help move that kind of stuff. You won’t get the full value but you’ll get a decent amount in a short period of time and be done with it. Beneficial relationship for most of you ask me 👍
