Man you could produce a huge series of these and make a 1-2 hour long video. A lot of this applies to all types of electronic repairs like guitars, amps, and other gear. Love your channel!

Pro-pro tip for free take a piece of cardboard and stick your screws through it. You can draw on it and put each screw exactly where it goes especially when dealing with short and long screws. You can also make notes on the cardboard of things to remember.

This has to be the most common issue that I find with anything that has an AC adapter. A few years ago, I found a cache of old video game systems in the trash at a game store (they didn't have a tech...idk what was going on)...most of them either needed a cleaning or their broken jack connections, fixed. Easiest fix, ever.

Have always said: Electronic music without electricity really sucks. Did this to my Juno 106 two months ago and am now teaching my 7 year old synthesis on her. Happy synthesizing, everyone!

For loose screws I use a pill box and put the different screws in the different day containers, so I know which screws go together.

Great tip Carlos. I have plenty of those aging Boss Micro FX and it's a useful trick to keep up my sleeve. Thanks.

Thank you for posting this. If you happen to replace a power switch in a DX7IIFD, please upload it! I received the part from Syntaur, ordered all the soldering supplies, but I still haven’t tackled the project. Seeing the pros do it would be a huge help.

i actually just ordered a new power inlet jack for my microkorg i pulled out of the trash off your website before i found this video.. i know it works because the battery function works but the power cable did not work. I replaced it with another cable i had because it uses the same one as guitar pedals so i had numerous, still nothing. Im going to try spraying deoxit inside the port whole next and ill try the wiggle technique to make sure its a crack but im nearly certain its something with the port. It's definitely old so its supposed to negative center but i guess if it doesnt work upon replacement ill try postive center.

I recently had to fix a broken power input jack on my Yamaha YPG 625. Easily over a hundred screws you have to remove to get to it.

I have a korg DW -8000 that needs repair. i get no signal out of the main output, but I get signal from the headphones. I think the key contacts need cleaning as well. Any ideas about getting signal out of the main output?

Hey Syntaur, by any chance would you guys have a replacement power supply for a Yamaha SY-85? But in a 220-240volt version for use in Australia? Or recommend a similar suitable replacement I could shoehorn in there?

Could one not just heat the joint and reflow the existing solder?
