KENYA NEEDS TO CELEBRATE JIMMI GATHU PROPERLY!! THIS GUY IS A LIVING LEGEND!!
Who hasnt teared when Okwara walked in, i did. Jimmy is an icon.
I will never look at Yvonne Okwara the same way again.... This is truly amazing...I have a lot of mad respect for what Yvonne Okwara did....As Joyner Lucas once said in his jam 'Will' "...Ain't nothin' worst than losin' your hero and couldn't say bye, And we never know just when it's our time, the legends are gone and we don't know why,So before they go, look here go a toast so give 'em a rose while they still alive... " Let's appreciate the people who have been good to us and remind them of that while they are still alive.
word!
@ayot I always look for your comments, you always have something nice to say! Barakiwa sana🙌
Jimmy and his family were our neighbours at one point. He is not only a legend but also, a genuinely nice person with no airs and so is his wife.
Jimmi Gathu Avenue....
Two of my favourite presenters @ Capital FM were Eve D'souza & Muthoni Bwika and to hear how Jimmi midwifed their talents is amazing! God places you in places of position / place of authority to be other people's destiny changers without even realising it!
As someone who's invested in media, I love this CTA so much...sadly I wasn't born when Jimmi Gathu was at his prime
I was a kid and I tell you…that was when media was media! Ehhh!

Jimmie Gathu is a kenya TV/Radio icon
For all it's worth, Jimmi should know that he is followed and appreciated by many. I loved watching him on TV back when I was in class 4. I still follow n listen to his shows in spice fm. Thank you Richie for this platform
Yvonne giving Jimmi his flowers was amazing. This' why he can NEVER leave media
12:09 Jimmi Gathu got me at Intelligent Radio... That is so deep...Apart from wanting to have intelligent radio, I think for the sake of having wider perspectives on issues, if you have your radio presenters with varied backgrounds, that goes a long way in making your radio listening experience interesting.
Well deserved flowers
i had forgotten Muthoni Mwika........................Sunday afternoons..............old school groove...................
You've been a destiny helpers to so many people. God bless you Jimmi Gathu.
Johnstone Mwakazi used to go to All Saints Cathedral. Born again, he was very encouraging when attending youth church, he was sooo optimistic and really trusted in God. At that time I think he had walked to church or he mentioned at some point how he wasn't raised with much but was Godfearing, the next time we hear him on Radio, I'm like ......but God. So Jimmie, you're just a great destiny helper.
Jimmi Gathu is what Ruge Mutahaba was in Media here in TZ
Do you guys in Tz have a platform kama CTA we can access? Would love to understand how media functions there and esp bongo music origins.

Mind blown!!I went to Jamhuri high school with johnstone mwakazi, trust me, from form 1 he was always an amazing public speaker. C.u leader, deputy school captain, a good friend/classmate and all the teachers and students adored him. I had no idea Jimmy is the one who gave him his media break. Bless you Jimmy Gathu
