I have a ''Vendetta'' that was given to me as a gift a few years ago an I love it ! My wife actually confiscated it an it has become the designated ''picnic knife'' that goes with us when we have or lunches outdoors around the farm !
There is good reason theose tradtional knives have lasted long enough to become traditional - they get the job done and do it efficiently. Knives that don't get the job done get lost in the annuls of time.
Hey. I'm the first like 👍 for your video. You're up, early. It's 6:06am in Vermont. Video hasn't started, yet. Still watching the ads. I see CCE and knives... I hit like 👍 And my battery is about dead... Going to have to watch it later after I charge.
I was actaully still in bed. On Saturday evening I set the video to go live at that time in the morning. I usually get a nice increase of viewers starting early on Sunday morning, so to get the most views I had it start then.
They are all slip joint knives unless stated otherwise. The vast majority are slip joint knives as that is how most traditional knives worldwide were made 100+ years ago. I will mention to the owner that you would like more specs listed on their products.
For the record do a search for the Corsican Vendetta knife and you will find it is not originally from there. It was meant to be a tourist knife and they were made in Italy and France. There's more the story but I do not want to write it out here. Still a very nice knife, with a history.
I didn't have time to do a full history of the knife, that's not the purpose of the video, I was simply reviewing the knife and gave a nod to it's history. The full story of everthing is always a lot more interesting than a cursory overview can possibly be. More details can also be found on the Knives of France Blog website. Most of the knives have a link to a short overview of the history of the knife which they link to in the product description. For this knife here is what they wrote up: knives-of-france-blog.com/vendetta-knife/
Really like the high-end Vendetta at Knives of France. You can however also get the budget, Fred Perrin Vendetta at Chicago Knife Works for $24. The gorgeous high-end ones are only available at Knives of France. Vive la France!

Cool. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I have several European traditional knives and enjoy them all. They are design by function, and therefore useful and surprisingly efficient.

Jake always appreciate you showing me new things/options. Keep up the great work !
Thanks! Will do!
Merci Jake. Je viens de commander le Vendetta. J’adore le style de ce couteau.
Very cool. It is indeed a special knife, it has a very nice look and feel to it.
Very nice classic styles. I will definitely check knives if France out. Thank you, Jake.
Thanks Jon.
Very unique looking knives Jake… can’t wait to see what you think of them 👍
I am looking forward to it too.
Interesting. The store is new to me. These two knives are kinda cool, nice blades. Odd shaped handle on the Vendetta. Thanks!
Thanks Su. I am always happy to share new stuff with my viewers.
Great video; interesting knifes!
Yeah, I am a bit of a fan. I wish they would modernize then just a bit - put in a blade stop so the edge isn't in possible danger when closing it.

It would be nice if this website provided more information about the knives (weight, locking mechanism, blade/handle width, etc.).

@@CanadianCuttingEdge Not a criticism, just a comment for those interested in the real history of that particular knife. Good unboxing as usual.
@@olivierbatiste6035 Was fully aware of this, nice summary
