This hole in one is historic and happened at this tournament before it was the waste management tournament. Hole in one on a par 4! The ball deflected off of Tom Byrum’s putter who was on the green and went in! Tom Byrum was a pro from South Dakota! Cool story

all the comments about the good good guys ace are a joke. it was such a short par 4 Matt wasnt even hitting driver. he like popped up a 3 wood. hole was probably playing no more than 250 yards, plus its in a spot with zero pressure. ppl want to say its the best shot ever? its not even in the top 1000

The main reason why it counts is because Byron was clearly unaware of the ball coming towards him or his putter until it deflected off of Byron's putter and into the hole. There's also a similar rule for stationary golf balls being unintentionally struck into the hole (usually by another ball), but it hasn't been used yet.
