Not a civil war, a religious war.
    You will never erase history!

It was neither civil nor religious it was an outright persecution against the Catholic Church and it’s faithful. Viva Christo Rey y Santamaría de Guadalupe!

Definitely a Civil war. The rich was also persecuted.

@ Around 5:43 - Seems the following translation was omitted (as gentleman is holding a picture of his grandfather): "My mother's father, Grandfather Toribio Zepeda, we consider him to be a martyr of that revolution."

Thank you for covering La Cristiada. You missed the heart of La Cristiada. If you really want the true real story of the suffering and crimes committed by the federal troops you need to do your research in the states of Jalisco Guanajuato and Michoacan. Zacatecas and Durango had minor involvement in La Cristiada. BTW the Catholic Church did not go on strike. They moved out of the Church buildings in protest to celebrate Mass and were later shut down by the government and therefore celebrated Mass in the Caves. Priest and entire Ranchos were massacred because of this

    VERY GOOD COMMENT -
... You missed the heart of La Cristiada ... They moved out of the Church buildings in protest to celebrate Mass
YOU BIASED THE ISSUE : EXTREME LEFT AND MACONIC ANTICLERICALISM IN ACTION
Any similarity with actual european process is a coincidence

Are there any unbiased sources on this? The Catholic Church is not without fault and everything makes them seem like a victim when they've been the aggressor throughout mexican history and world history.

So it's okay to genocide innocent Catholics because some people abused their power? Punish the people responsible, not innocent civilians.

      What histories are you reading?
Shall we start with Rome? How did the Church aggress against Rome?
How did the Church aggress against the waves of barbarian migrants across Wester Europe?
You are aware that the Crusades lasted only about 200 years, right? You also know that the Christian Middle East was attacked for four hundred years before the Crusades started, right?
Though there is plenty of blame for everyone involved in the European religious wars, it wasn't the Church dispossessing Protestant princes and kings of their property, it was those princes and kings dispossessed the Church it used to support the poor...

You talk form your bottom, you are not even mexican and you don´t know the history, my grand father suffered the cristero war and there are many testimonies of people who fought the goverment because of the bloddy persecution and the anti clerical laws that still remain in our anti catholic constitution. Do some research or shut up.

The church was so strong that the government committed genocide...okay

    • @burnerr
      @burnerr 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@JessMan508the point is that the church became strong by murdering innocent people. The state saw that they couldn’t let the church get more power so they did their part to put an end to it. In the end, the state succeeded in limiting the political aspirations of the church while the church succeeded in spreading its faith without slaughtering non-believers
