Great interview. The working classes being priced out of attending football matches is sadly nothing new. I remember writing an essay whilst at MMU in the early nineties addressing the demonisation of the working class amid the growth of satellite dishes appearing across the council estates of England and the usual tory accusations of "lack of priorities". Whilst it was not cheap it was far more affordable than a family attending the game twice a month.

So well said, mate. I actively supported the National Football Museum in Preston. I love Manchester - and Urbis. But it was important to value that regional history of football. The gentrification of football - and leisure more generally - has had a huge impact. I respect - incredibly - the work of the Deviant Leisure researchers. That is a pathway forward for us, I reckon. Respects Ostia txxx

Hi Tara, I was surprised by how close Kevin's voice and accent sounded like a young Steve Redhead. Another man from the North, I guess!

Nice one, Doug. Yes, the middle class northern accent is a beautiful one - should be used more in audiobooks, I reckon! txxx
