This video was too long. Halfway through it, I got hungry so I left it playing and went to the kitchen to fix myself a sandwich. But then I found out that I'm out of mayonnaise so I went to a store. In several of the propaganda for back then, it show “asian” people with extreme slanted eyes, large sharp teeth, and with an “Asian” accent, which wasn’t actually an asian accent. You see this in several media forms back then, including lady and the tramp, the aristocats, and a few other movies. The Siamese species of cat has been demonized through this media, as well. I could go on, if you still can’t see it.

I just got Siamese cat and stumbled upon the original song. Learned about this version. Boy did they massacred everything. And I don't know whats more creepy, Lady or these cats. They look like animated corpses. They shouldn't make these characters so realistic. Theres a reason animals are made more anthropomorphic in cartoons. This here is uncanny valley territory. As an asian myself I don't really care how races are seen as its funny to me sometimes, i mean unless it's actually racist, and I'd say people are so sensitive now that they can make anything racist plus this was made when it was more acceptable? In several of the propaganda for back then, it show “asian” people with extreme slanted eyes, large sharp teeth, and with an “Asian” accent, which wasn’t actually an asian accent. You see this in several media forms back then, including lady and the tramp, the aristocats, and a few other movies. The Siamese species of cat has been demonized through this media, as well. I could go on, if you still can’t see it.

Of course it doesn't mean all asians are that way, but it's a stereotype for a reason. Stereotypes aren't racist, stereotypes are simply racial tropes. It's when the trope is used in a negative way that makes it racist, which the siamese cats were not used in a racist way.

I didn't find it offensive, in fact I found it quite charming. Though I'm not Asian myself so don't know how they'd feel about it. For me being African I kinda like it when animals traditional from a certain worldly area have the accent of said area, it always made sense to me. Like how shows that have African animals have traditional African accents.
But I guess this is basically the Asian equivalent of Jim Crow from that other Disney movie. Where a black crow was literally called Jim Crow and had an African American accent. That ish was so on the nose that I burst out laughing from how racist it was 😂💀

I just got Siamese cat and stumbled upon the original song. Learned about this version. Boy did they massacred everything. And I don't know whats more creepy, Lady or these cats. They look like animated corpses. They shouldn't make these characters so realistic. Theres a reason animals are made more anthropomorphic in cartoons. This here is uncanny valley territory. Also such realistic animals without any genitalia looks weird. An ultra realistic male cats with female bodies.
