    First video I've seen where the installer, is working from the side on which he's standing. Additionally straddling to the other side gets kudos.

    Very helpful vid. Im in the process of building a Supersix Evo. The frame came with BB30 bearings and I purchase an FSA crankset (stamped BB30 on spindle). Neither came with the washers or spacers that you removed. Do you need them? There were other washer things on the drive side of the crank that you did not remove. What are they and will I need them on my build?

    Adding grease to the spindle does not lubricate the bearings. At best it only eases reassembly.

    Great video sir, but my retainer ring pops out before my crank releases. It takes a lot of pressure and my retainer ring can’t withstand it!

    Nice. On the very last bit you actually loosened the crank while saying to tighten it.

    What kind of bb should I use my fsa gossamer spindle is too short

    Is any of the non-drive side spindle exposed after you secured it back in place? I can’t tell because you didn’t film from above, so I can’t see how close the crank is to the BB. Thanks, L

    Good video for removal, but he did not clean and lube the bearings. Why are you lubing the spindle like that?

  • @danzaokid
    @danzaokid 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The 2 BB sealed bearings (inside the bicycle frame) were not replaced, cleaned, nor re-lubed in this video. Those BB bearings will eventually wear out, make noises, and feel rough no matter how many times you re-lube just the spindle surfaces in this video.

    • @scottheitmanmarinesurvey3557
      @scottheitmanmarinesurvey3557 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      YEP AND WHY DID HE LUBE THE SPINDLE? I guess so it slides out easy when he replaces those bearings. That didnt make much sense. Couldnt hurt any thing though, just a waste of good grease.

    • @danzaokid
      @danzaokid 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@scottheitmanmarinesurvey3557 agreed.... This fella has no clue that he is lubing the wrong thing. It pains me to watch this video. The bearings are easier to just replace when worn. One would only lube BB's that have loose bearings or caged bearings.

    Mine was an ABSOLUTE BEAR to get off. I'm a pretty strong dude (5'11'', 200lbs, used to bench 365) and it took ALL MY STRENGTH to get the left side crank off. I think they WAYYYY over torqued mine at the bike shop. I had to actually continually jump on my 8mm wrench to get it to move until I could do it by hand. It literally took about 15 minutes just to unscrew it.

      To lubrificate with some lubrificant parts that need to be lubrificated :D
      Some say a screwdriver is a good way to *lubricate* the cranks, although I use the finger too ;)

    • @thalo52
      @thalo52 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The word for "to lubricate" in Portuguese is lubrificar. You can see how he anglicized the Portuguese word.

      Did you ever remove it? I was having the same issue. I managed to sort it out by removing the locking nut and spraying with lots of WD-40, then leaving it overnight to soak in. Came back to it in the morning and could turn it with ease
