Having learnt to drive before left hand mirrors were thought of, II have habitually looked out of the windows to the left and rear when executing a RH turn on a roundabout. I still find that this gives me a good view and I sometimes find focussing on the mirror when only time/steering is a factor rather less efficient. I used to tackle the Hyde Park Corner roundabout daily in the 1980s before multimple land markings when it was something of a free for all and found that all round observation viia both mirrors and windows served very effective. I also find that students sometimes struggle with steering if they are looking straight from centre to right or left mirror without rushing the process and not properly taking in what they are seeing. Is it ok to look in centre mirror then ahead then side mirror to ensure they keep on course?

Hiya Thats a good way, however most mirrors now especially if you add blindspot mirrors give a huge field of view to the side of the car. Which even when looking across from inside the car may be hidden in the blindspots or the centre pillar. And now with ebikes and escooters capable of 60mph plus to know what is approaching from the rear corners and coming up the inside of you has never been more vital

    MSPSL or MSPSGL

Hiya, we have always trained people to use mspsGl, driving the essential skills, says to adjust the speed, then choose the appropriate gear, so for your pupils to be taught to bring the speed down, then change into the appropriate gear, and clutch up.
That way they don't coast or go around in the wrong gear. (Unless its automatic) Lol.😀
