Vancouver Hikes - The Lion Binkert Trail (With summit)

- This is the first hike that I did with my wife. The Lion Binkert Trail is one of the more challenging hikes around Vancouver. The terrain is steep and difficult, but doable and the views are next to none. *IMPORTANT* It is highly recommended that if you are not an advanced hiker that you avoid the summit. It is a scramble that is very steep and if you were to fall it would for sure mean your death. Please be very careful either way and we hope that you really enjoy the video and the hike if you get a chance to do it.
That’s called a life every young people should experience, I have been to The Lions a couple of times, but never see a sun rise yet.
I highly recommend it. It's insanely beautiful and makes the hike a very relaxing and fun experience as doing it in two days gives your body more time to relax.
One if my favorite songs everrrr is, “I wonder where the lions are” and I never really knew lol.

Classic song. I did this trail as well.
The climb down to a scree ledge, to scramble the peak itself, is something I never did. Too much exposure.
If I didn't have to descend back to the hiking trail end on the ridge, I would have tried.
Did do Mt Unnecessary as well, south along the ridge. Mt Harvey and Brunswick, I summited just north of the Lion Binkert trail.

Would you need to book a camping spot, part way up?
To be honest I'm not sure how it works. We tend to camp wherever. Free earth type people. We are very clean never leave waste and just camp where we are done for the day wherever we may fall down. So you would have to ask someone else. Sorry I couldn't help you.

Great video! What is the process like for getting a drone permit?
The process for getting your drone certificate is very straightforward if you go to Google and type in drone certification Canada you'll land there on the homepage where you'll find all the learning resources that you need in order to pass the test. Once you feel you've studied and understand enough then from that same page you can apply to register for the Drone and take your test both of which you will need to do for me it took me one week to study and understand things but also note that I was flying since 2016 and they only started enforcing certificates 2019 I believe or 2020 so I had a lot of experience over a thousand hours of flight before I actually got certified as it wasn't required when I first bought my drone anyways I hope that helps I highly recommend flying it's very fun it's very easy with the DJI drones and you can just create beautiful memories as you can see

We weren't brave enough to want to carry all our gear up the scramble. But yes you could for sure camp up there.

No. We were shooting on an Sony A73, Gopro, Mavic 2 Pro Mixed.
I wish was only with the gopro so we don't need to bring the heavy stuff hahaha
