Great! I really love when I hear something positive about my country (Brazil) or my native language ( portuguese) . I've been learning english since 2016 ( I learned the basic at school, but for me , wasn't enough) So, I decided learn english by my own. I really aprecciate your australian accent Christian. I know probably I make a lot of grammar mistakes yet, but I'll never give up.
Oh, that's true. I remember my first conversation in English. For last about 100 days I have had a few conversations, but my listening improved a lot. When I had another one a few days ago, I felt much more confident and could speak more fluently.
I have never been sick and tired of you; on the contrary, you always have extremely interesting and useful topics. Your style is unique. Thanks a million again, dear Christian.
Learning English definitely changed my lifestyle. Living in Cambridge is a huge challenge every day. Also, to find a great job and well paid is an illusion. However, as a human being we keeping hope in the future.
I have been an English teacher for over 20 years and have never met anybody more interested in serious teaching than you. Thanks a lot for all your videos.
I've met a friend from another part of the world. In spite of the difference of time (7h), we talk every day. Fell like a lucky duck. Thank you, my friend, so much. I even can't imagine, what I'd do, if I didn't meet you!
I am Paul and all this conversation was very interesting for me to hear another opînion. I'm French , I understand German and Spanish and now hours after hours i am improving English. I'm seventy six years old and I'm very proud to hear and communicate. Thank you very much.
Hi Christian today I've talked with my boss in Germany for 40 minutes, no fear no shame, it was a great fluently conersation, my Monday best day of the week...thanks a lot for your teaching
Minute 6:00 "When you learn languages you learn of new ways of looking at the world" I really loved that. Great use/choice of words, dear Daniel. I couldn't have said it better.
Hi Christian. I'm an English teacher in Japan. I'm currently reading Daniel Everett's "Don't Sleep, There Are Snakes". It's a great book. This was a great interview. I appreciate your truthful insights. Keep up the great work!
Good job teacher!!! I'm learning a lot with you!! I'm watching yours videos every day and i realize that i can understand everything that you said.. I'm very happy for that 😎
A classic interview....Thanks. I want to emphasize that...you will never regret learning a language. At least, I don't regret learning English, Spanish and now Chinese!! Speaking a language will Change your life.....I know because it changed mine.
So far, it is the most honest and straightforward class out there about learning English I've ever watched. I'm from Korea and unlike most other indo-european launguages such as English, Deutsche or Espanol, Korean has unique grammar. In our language, verbs come at the end of the sentences and objectives are located before verbs. We seldom use I or We as subjects but unlike Espanol our verbs don't change forms according to subjects, etc. Thus it's extremely hard for us to learn English or other Indo-European languages. Therefore there are millions of absurd promises like we can make you fluent in English in 90 days sorta shits. But you made it clear that learning a language isn't illusion. It's practice and repeating, that's what I got right? Thank you so much. I'll keep watching your classes.
After i did start to learn english by myself I was able to see the world with other eyes and that changed my life. I've learned a very important thing You don't need to be a perfectionist you need to be able to express your ideas your desires. Then don't have fear of make some mistakes, cuz if you have, probably you'll never be able to achieve your goals. On the victory, enjoy it. On the fail, learn with your mistakes. I know that have some mistakes on my grammar but i'm improving it. Some months ago I've never would expect that i'd arrive at here.
I first read about Everett in the book 'Mastery' by Robert Greene, and went on to read several of his articles and two of his books. I cannot wait to read his newest book! Great choice for an interview guest! Terrific work! :-)
No pain no gain, that's true. I appreciated that Everett talked about the respect toward a people, I guess that respect is the key to improving your language skills.
Thank you Christian, I listen every morning, when I'm driving to leave my 8 year old son to school and then I go to work, I spend 1 hour every day. You are much more interesting than the news of the mornings. I'm motivated to learn English. I wish you a Merry Christmas and an amazing year
Christian, you are one of the best English teachers, I`ve ever met! You do a very important work! Educating and teaching people isn`t easy. So you cope with this difficult task so far, I suppose)))) Keep doing it))))

Hi Christian,I´m Daniel from Argentina, and I wanted to tell you that I watch your videos very often because I realize the effort you are doing by helping people to learn english as a second language. I´m 70 now and I studied english since I was a child, but I am not fluent speaking though I have enough vocabulary which would allow me to speak fluently, due to my lack of confidence. You are an incredible people and me too. hahaha ! And the one thing I need to tell you you are very funny and humble.
Hello, Christian! I have learned a lot with your video classes, I want to say that you are the best and more easy native teacher for me. Thank you very much for your classes.
Yes, fear is right! In USA in the college ESL classes the comunication is not tought. Only grammar, rules, and pure pronation. To learn those sounds in a short time for adults super hard.
This was a really good one. Curiously enough, I've been watching many Dan Everett videos recently and started reading his book How Language Began. Keep on doing this great work!
Yeah-yeah-yeah, that's the discipline. Hard work, but the key is to not feel it as a burden, bc if you liked it it does not feel hard, just as fun. Step by step, brick by brick, slowly but surely it will be accumulated and later somewhere on your road you're gonna realize it goes better, smoother. Do it every day, guys! It'll pay off! Happy Holidays!
