CampFI is a life-changing retreat for people on their journey to financial independence.
Whether you're just curious, working towards or have already achieved financial independence, this event has something for everyone, from various outdoor activities, hanging out and mind-opening sessions. In 2017, Stephen Baughier created this retreat to provide the opportunity for attendees to learn and grow together on their journey of Financial Independence.
One of the exercises that really helped me was to storyboard out a typical day/week in retirement and tying activities back to what makes me happy. I got really specific about new things I wanted to do or learn, from making coffee to having a full ethnic breakfast on Sundays, to taking an hour long walk getting lost in a new part of town, to learning a new craft or language. Mapping out what a typical day in retirement would look like helped me add structure and set realistic goals.
I always enjoy these. Thanks for recording and posting.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Having friends and hobbies are very important in retirement. You have to find a new purpose or focus and that can take time.
Joel - Excellent talk! I appreciate hearing from early retirees and I have certainly leaned from this video. Looking forward to seeing you at future in-person meetups.
Sigh, if you want to work then don't retire.
I think his point was he didn't realize that until AFTER he retired.
Good video - thanks! :)
I cannot even have 6 consecutive days off of work and I also have "unlimited PTO" For every day I take off, I have 4 hours additional work to do. It is no wonder that I am working to get out of corporate work.
When I went on vacation the work piled up at my office door.
@@FIRE_DrNinjaTurtle my work piles up in the form of emails. I receive about 400 emails a day with my job.
@ I totally get. I am glad that I retired early at the beginning of the pandemic 🙂😁
@ I have subscribed to your channel. I have real estate but I am going to to look into Dividend investing
@@FIRE_DrNinjaTurtle Thanks! Investing doesn't have to be all or nothing into one thing.
