The Culling was great, I played it way more than Fortnite and PUBG, it’s smaller maps allows combat to happen faster which meant you could have multiple gaming sessions. But I didn’t even know this was coming out!
The thing i love about battle royale games is exploring the big maps and sneaking around being careful and rying to survive until the end by avoiding the other players unless your forced to fight back. The actual combat is not very fun because you die in only like 1 or 2 seconds.
DangerVille Its walking around those maps that i find so fun, exciting and enjoyable about these games. Sneaking around, spying on other players while hiding from them behind trees or inside houses and other stuff, exploring all the places on the map looking for items while being careful that other players could show up. And i win sometimes in both Fortnite and H1Z1 so i dont die every time. The people that complain about these battle royale games seems to just wanna get to the combat as fast as possible but to me the combat is whats the least fun and interesting about these games. And on Fortnite if you just wanna get to the shooting right away you can simply just land on the map once the party buss opens.

They had a pretty good playerbase, the game had original ideas but eventually they just made 1 bad patch after another and removed all the fun parts about it. There must have been huge changes in their team or something because no person that played pubg/fortnite or other br's would have said that this game might have even a fraction of a chance for a small success.

When I was about 12 or so there was a game called Golemizer and I found an exploit for infinite gold using the trading system. Basically, you placed an offer to buy X amount of premium currency from other players at negative price. To be honest, I did abuse it, and got banned for 11.7 years but I managed to somehow log in a year or two later, only to get banned for 111.7 years or so. Fun times.

As a company it's really easy to say that they just didn't give a fuck, but look at some of the devs individually and you'll probably see that sparkle in their eye. I then searched for gameplay footage of this and it looks like they took inspiration from the failure of culling squirrels when producing this game.

When I was about 12 or so there was a game called Golemizer and I found an exploit for infinite gold using the trading system. Basically, you placed an offer to buy X amount of premium currency from other players at negative price. To be honest, I did abuse it, and got banned for 11.7 years but I managed to somehow log in a year or two later, only to get banned for 111.7 years or so. Fun times.

Scrawny McMassive yeah, but it was obvious they messed up just from looking at the trailer. Culling 1 was focused on its melee combat, crafting, and func with only 3 guns and 2 other ranged weapons (besides that alarm gun)
The culling 2 changes that completely and is focused more on guns making it seem more like pubg and a cashgrab. If they stuck to its original gameplay this game possibly wouldn't have died so early

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to justify the game, but, like, I don't think whether or not a project is advertised or not has that much to do with passion. Advertisement will exist or not exist regardless of passion. I'd guess that either they were expecting their legacy and/or the Royale hype to advertise the game for them, or they just flat-out ran out of money or some other misguided business mumbo jumbo.
As a company it's really easy to say that they just didn't give a fuck, but look at some of the devs individually and you'll probably see that sparkle in their eye. Honestly, some quick solo interviews with the devs about what went wrong would be super interesting, or at least a general post-mortem thing

I loved the original Culling an its originality of being the first big battle royale, and its melee combat, but then it died and I moved on, and when I heard that The Culling 2 released, I was hoping that they could revive it, then i saw the trailer and saw it was literally a $20 Roblox meets PUBG

This is so heartbreaking because the Culling one when it was in it's prime was one of my favorite games and it was so sad watching the game spiral into a downwards trend and now here was are today where the devs just release a terrible pubg clone... so sad. So much wasted potential.

I read an article on the BBC about how culling grey squirrels for 100 years failed to bring their population down in the Uk, and I was looking for the meaning of the word culling on google, when I landed on this game's page on the Xbox website. I then searched for gameplay footage of this and it looks like they took inspiration from the failure of culling squirrels when producing this game.
