Melissa I really like the mixed media on your cork mount. The before and after you embedded is the testimony that your plants are thriving and enjoy the canopy cover of the pergola. It's getting warm for this time of year and I'll be reattaching my shade cloth to prevent burns on my orchids. The Mockingbird chirping away in the background is singing the song of its people. Everything's looking wonderful! I did the same thing when I first started collecting, sticking Phals and Vandas on the same mounts with Catt, Onc, and Enc. I know better now but it's kinda working. Phals and Bulbos seem to like the same care, but I think from now on I'm putting one plant per mount.
That was a cardinal that was singing. I often hear Caroline wrens in the background too. Your pergola looks fantastic, and it’s just the type of place. I would like to have my morning coffee with my wife in the morning. I need something like that at my house. Like you, I really got hit hard by the orchid bug last year. I’m up to about 90 plants, so you have me beat. It’s been interesting following you and seeing your journey. I think last year you were mostly into large Cattleya orchids, but now you are branching off into different genera and not necessarily only the large orchids.
