Keep the spirit of 1916 alive. Remember the global struggle for liberty from Lexington and Concord to the streets of Dublin!

“In this supreme hour the Irish nation must, by its valour and discipline, and by the readiness of its children to sacrifice themselves for the common good, prove itself worthy of the august destiny to which it is called.”
It was from that moment."A terrible beauty was born." are still relevant today, as they remind us of the sacrifices and struggles of the Irish people, and of the ideals and values that they fought for. They also challenge us to uphold those ideals and values, and to work for peace and justice in our world. 🕊️
RIP Steven Mulvey. Robert Joseph Mulvey. James Arthur Mulvey. Patrick Mulvey. GPO 1916. GOD SAVE IRELAND 🇮🇪

+Sulejman Avdic The Irish were originally taken as slaves around the 16th century by king James the 2nd the first large group were captured rebels but eventually women and children were taken in large numbers they were the first slaves for the New World they were treated like cattle the Irish were hated because they were Catholic and there land was to be taken for colonists in Britain.

They were conquered by English during the Middle Ages. After English and Scots became Protestant, Irish remain Catholic so Irish were oppressed. Irish weren't allowed to vote or hold public office due to their religion. There were also massacres against Irish by British.

They have fought the English for over 800 years.... but its not a Catholic and protestant thing really that only came about in the last 100 or so years. Wolfe tonne Robert emmet... alot more are protestant irish republicans
