      Best sounds ever. The newer trains also use this type of sound, but on a relatively quieter scale.

      I'm kind of surprised, because even when you're used proper DCC sound decoders, for what it is, it's really good. @@davidng2336

    I remember having a set like this as a kid. It only had an oval and I remember the locomotive being red and silver with an open cab. The tender was probably red and it did have a yellow Rio Grande boxcar. I remember it making smoke but I forgot it had sound like that. I don't think it had a remote. I remember it had a blue box and I only remember running it twice before my mom gave it to Toys For Tots.
    I kinda forgot about this set as I got proper electric trains as I got older. That was until I found a set similar to it with a smoke unit in 2019. Unfortunately it was one curve shy from forming a complete loop and I didn't have enough batteries for it so I got rid of it.

    My parents bought me this EZTec toy train and I took care of it for many years!
    I had the same remote, same locomotive except the coal was black, Santa Fe Yellow Tank, Red Gondola, and a caboose. Not sure if I had the 5 rolling stock. It's been a long time.

    Bought an EZTEC 37287 2050 train at a garage sale for my grandson. I learned a lot from your video but wonder if EZTEC has a website so I can get extra parts, a manual, more track, and learn a little more about it. Paid $5 so if it doesn't work, so be it.... neat looking train though.... and I read someplace that you could run it without the remote control, with a manual switch... any ideas on that? The remote is there and I suspect most of the covers are gone like mine so I will do a MacGuyver with duct tape... How do I run it manually?

    • @davidng2336
      @davidng2336  ปีที่แล้ว

      The black button closest to the bell will start the train without the remote. For this model, it will only push it forwards. Other models that don’t come with a remote can do both forwards and backwards; in this case, the bell plays the sound. I’m not sure on parts but once I do extra research, I’ll get back to you.

    Hi David! I recently got a few cars from an antique store for my toddler, (engine, flat car and caboose) and then realized I needed a coal car and remote to run the train, which I purchased as one unit. Now the train (Rio Grande 7318) runs when I use the switches manually, but the remote that came with the coal car lights up but doesn't turn the train on. Do you have any troubleshooting ideas? Thanks so much!

    • @davidng2336
      @davidng2336  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for reaching out! Let’s start with the remote. Do you know what model of remote you have? Look on the back for the model number.

  • @lillywho

    I now got the earlier version that used the same molding, the Silvernite Express. It didn't come with a remote, so I took out the mainboard and put in my own custom solution that runs on an Arduino with Bluetooth.
    Problem solved, and I now get to actually pick the speed and whether the headlight is on or not!
