      @@Neon_Umbreonmeh, I disagree respectfully. In a modern structure of Big Brother where the game has become very physical oriented Frankie fits that mold better. And is just an overall more versed player. Might’ve let hubris bring down his game but was fairly competent in all areas of the game and it was no easy task initially for Derrick to undo Frankie’s mist.

    Like Taran said, you can't pick him in a fan vote based competition for very obvious reasons, but JC was a better Big Brother player than at least half of the people taken in this draft. He's basically a strictly better Enzo in terms of great social and strategic play but struggles to win endgame comps. But at least he would have won the jury vote if he made it against anyone, unlike Enzo who managed to make it and still lost anyway, and Enzo absolutely does not have any play on his resume on the level of convincing Fessy to nominate Scottie that week. I know Fessy is Fessy, but everyone rightly credits Maggie for the Howie play and he's not exactly a brainbox either.

    • @TheMurrmursonbottle
      @TheMurrmursonbottle ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Yeah Michael could’ve absolutely done very well strategically and socially but never really had the opportunity to dominate in those ways because of how things shook out. But he’s IMO the best competition we’ve seen, and still great socially and very good strategically, he should’ve been a second round pick imo

    It’s interesting how many All Stars were picked. I guess just seeing them play again gives a better idea of how they would do on another return. Personally, I’m between Pooya and Taran’s teams this time. Slight edge to Pooya. Fun draft overall! I appreciated all of the vibes picks. I'm actually a little shocked that Memphis wasn't a pick. He really was the only other person who might have had a shot at taking the win away from Cody, he sort of forced himself into the big pregame alliance and somehow managed to get a foothold in despite no one liking him very much and having pretty much zero time to pregame as a last minute replacement, picks up where Tyler implodes with Xmas, was the only person really who knew he had to get rid of Cody to win, and had Enzo been more self interested Memphis had a decent shot of winning. And he did all that while playing basically just 30 mins every day and slept the rest of the time. I thought strategically he actually was one of the few interesting players in S22 that had a plan (that didn't include Cody) and had he won some comps he would have succeeded in said plan

    BB8 Jessica, BB15 Amanda certainly come to mind…BB11’s Michele and Russell both All Star worthy characters & players. BB17’s dentist and that dude with the wild mane were also pretty ON as far as the game goes.

  • @thegoldenhour3924
    @thegoldenhour3924 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    i definitely enjoy these drafts, but i think one of the reasons i honestly prefer the "ranking videos" you guys used to do is because it felt like more of an honest opinion/game discussion. I feel like these drafts encourage everyone to cater to fan favorites way too much. Tiffany at 5? Janelle at 7? And Da'vonne getting chosen at all here is just flat out hilarious, I mean she's played 3 times and never gotten above 10th😂.
    Even the Joseph and Hannah picks just seem like fan service. I mean I'm not crazy about Memphis or JC personally, but it's clear that they're both impressive players had better runs than either of those 2. Most of the people remotely controversial (like Amanda) are being avoided, which is fine, it's just annoying that they're calling it a "best to never win draft", when in reality its closer to a fan-favorites draft

    • @eckology016
      @eckology016 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Tiffany architected the strategy behind the most dominant alliance in Big Brother history, and made a conscious decision to make any of the moves she made that hurt her position. She knew (literally expressed as much on feeds, multiple times) she could have switched up around final 9 or so and rode with DX, Claire, and Chaddha if she was trying to give herself the best chance to win. She was basically The Culture's Player like Eric Stein was America's Player and Eric (rightfully) went in the top 2.

    • @thegoldenhour3924
      @thegoldenhour3924 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@eckology016 Tiffany was a really good player, and i definitely respect the decision she made. However, she knew from about the third week that she was going to be loyal to the cookout down to the end, so she had plenty of time to position herself well within the cookout when it was all said and done.
      Yes, she had good relationships with Claire and DX, but it never amounted to much within the game, they didn't benfit her at all outside of the one week Claire didn't change Tiff's noms. In fact on Derek X's HOH, he took out Christian which was something that Tiffany didn't even really want, as we saw her try and flip the vote. The point is that she didn't position herself well in an alliance to get to the end, even with all the time she had, I don't see how that's not a detriment to her as a game player. If we're talking purely from a game/odds standpoint, Players like Paul and Tyler were literally both at one point in a final 6 where they were guaranteed final 2, that's damn near incredible if we're talking social maneuvering and strategy. Tiffany was in a final 6 where 1 person would have taken her to the end. Even if DX and Claire got further and the cookout never existed, I'm pretty sure both of them acknowledged post-game that they both knew that had to cut Tiffany near the end. She was openly a social threat, where other players were able to hide it much better.
      On top of that, they've brought up other shows on these drafts several times (The Challenge, Traitors, etc) as points for and against certain players but for Tiffany they failed to mention that she was literally the 2nd person out on her season. Yes the Challenge is a very different game, but she was targeted by nearly everyone, including the Big brother people on her season (in a game that lends itself to alliances between shows lol). I feel like if they're going to use that as a point for other players, to not even consider with Tiffany doesn't make any sense.
      In the end, It just seems like there's this narrative that Tiffany had a perfect game but threw it away, and yes, that decision did diminish her chances of winning, but how can we make that assumption when it's mainly based on the first 3-4 weeks of gameplay. We never saw that scenario play out.

    • @TheMurrmursonbottle
      @TheMurrmursonbottle ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can see Tiffany in the list, but not jany or davonne. this was definitely the most fan pandering draft yet

    • @eckology016
      @eckology016 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thegoldenhour3924 She could not have positioned herself better within the Cookout with infinite time and effort, because they simply vibed with each other more than they vibed with her. Kyland and X were both kind of misogynistic and Big D was massively so which doesn't fit with Tiff being a strong and assertive woman. People forget the way they talked about the women (both Tiff and Chaddha) late in that season on feeds, but I sure don't. Normally people don't have to work with people that they don't have as much natural chemistry with when they have other people in the house who they get along with better and are better for their personal game. Only Eric is comparable in terms of having people he wants to work with, but being forced by external factors to work with other people. If she went to F6 with the DX/Claire/Chadda side, all of them, including DX and Claire, who ended up in a relationship, would have taken Tiff over each other.
      As for The Challenge, except comps, which no one was arguing was a strength for Tiff, there aren't really translatable skills there. The only way The Challenge would factor in is if you're someone like Kaycee who dominates the comps on The Challenge because it means you're on another level as a comp beast as those ones are harder. The 'strategy' in the Challenge is massively overrated. Traitors has much more translatable skills to BB. But I don't think either were a large factor in people making specific picks.

    • @thegoldenhour3924
      @thegoldenhour3924 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@eckology016 I mean in that Season of the Challenge, it wasn't like she just lost the daily, she was literally thrown into the elimination bc several people were outwardly targeting her, so I would argue in that case it was translatable to BB.
      To me, it's kind of ridiculous to say "Well, there's nothing Tiffany could've done" as an actual excuse for why she didn't position herself well. Yes, she was forced into a position where she had to work with 6 people, but she did make that choice (a choice i can respect, perosnally, but from a game perspective I can't give her credit for it bc it didn't benefit her)... Although is it really a coincidence that 4 of those people did not want to work with her at the end?? Azah seems like one of the nicest people ever, and she could never see eye to eye with Tiffany on a game level. It's Tiffany's job to make Azah feel comfortable, which she failed to do. Same thing with Big D, yes their personalities clashed, but that's partially on Tiffany for having such an openly Dominant personality. My point is that Players like Paul and Tyler hid that for the most part, even if they didn't like/connect with people, they still got them on their side. And how do you know DX/Claire would have taking Tiffany over each other???? I'm fairly certain it was said multiple times on the feeds and after the show that they knew they'd have to cut her near the end.
      How can you say other shows wasn't a factor for other people??? Cody literally played one of the most dominant games in the history of Big Brother against other All-Star Players. He's easily a top 4 winner at worst, And these guys Picked him like 11th or something ridiculous in the Winner Draft (behind the likes of Ian who he vastly outplayed, Kaycee, Xavier, Rachel Reilly, etc) and their only points against him was that he was awful on Traitors, which they just kept repeating. Da'vonne was picked here, which is ridiculous considering her pretty terrible BB track record, but they said that her Challenge performance showed she has the capabilities to be a good player.
      Like i said, I enjoy these drafts, I just wished they were honest about their picks. To me it seems clear that they are very forgiving of the faults of their favorite players, but will highlight those same faults in players they don't like and use it as points against them.

    Rewatching BB5 had me realize just how overrated Nakomis was. Justice for Marvin, the OG originator of the backdoor!

    • @eckology016
      @eckology016 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nakomis definitely had a super favorable cast draw in 5 as well, as we saw when she did not connect with anyone on All-Stars. And a cast like All-Stars is more what you're going to get in terms of personalities on most BB seasons.
      I also found Diane quite overrated on the rewatch last time I did so a few years back. She had a solid enough midgame but also got outfoxed hugely by Drew over and over all the way up to the end. Taran's right, Karen was honestly the best player on that season outside of Drew.

    • @murmursmeglos
      @murmursmeglos ปีที่แล้ว

      I think she deserves credit for it. It's one thing to sit on your butt and suggest a plan, but enforcing it as HOH deserves credit (after so many passive moves/players) because if it failed it would all fall on her. Marvin would dive for cover like "wasn't my move".

  • @Cren42
    @Cren42 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This was actually pretty reasonable overall? Maybe the most so of these? The Chaddah pick specifically was truly ill-advised, imo (like, I've heard her commentary from last year, and it was spectacularly off the mark--I suspect the best possible for her is early jury on a repeat outing) but everything else felt like it went more or less in the right spot. Kyland and Frankie maybe too low, several of Rob's picks, especially Janelle, way too high, but nothing truly egregious. Kind of impressive for that reason alone. Do kind of wish people had brought up the season being cast with a particular player in mind in the case of Eric Stein and Paul, but I forgive Eric that generallly.
